Sorta, I'll have to look into it further to understand what the displace tool is, but I understand what you said to do.
On GIMP it's Filters > Map > Displace. I don't know where it is on Photoshop. What it does is displace one layer by another layer. I like to Copy Merged on my sigs, then paste on a new layer, and use a GIMPressionist filter. Then hide that layer and Displace another layer by the hidden layer. Does that make sense?
Well I figured it out through you. What's the Displace map? I've heard it mentioned before.
It's not really my technique, it's pretty common. One other technique I recommend is the Displace Map. It can create some nice effects.
Well I've seen better, but you're pretty high on the totem pole. (I was part of a board where people were AMAZING at making sigs before I joined here, no offence) All my sigs are pretty original. I only go into tutorials to learn how to do certain effects. I borrowed your technique of lowering the opacity in my latest sigs, and I found it makes them a lot better. >_<
I'm honored you would think me good at making sigs. I basically do lots of tutorials, which happen to be great for learning everything you can do with the program of your choice. I try to make the sigs I create for others original, though.
