Who knows. They may be able to do it. It's one of those gonna have to wait and see if they can get a workable plan together.

It's for a lot of reasons. The fleet of shuttles is getting too old to fly safely, they are expensive, the Bush administration started funneling money to the Mars program and there's only so much money to go around. Ya. It's sad, but if they can iron out a solid plan for the future I think they can still do amazing things. Like go back to the moon and eventually Mars. I just get nervous that we're going to have a gap in our program now where we need to rely on the Russian Soyus capsules to get people up and down from the International Space Station.
Thats ridiculous! Is it because of financial reasons? Maybe if they wouldn't be making NASA reach out to the middle east they would be able to fund it!
They aren't funding the US Space shuttle program after these last two missions. Discovery flies on November 1st and Endeavor on February 26th, 2011. After that, no more shuttle flights are planned.
Whats all this about canceling the shuttle program?
