  1. Awesome! I can't wait to see the first film to come out of King Arthur Productions.

Let me know if you have any other questions. On my PC I figured out a fairly easy way to grab screenshots from recorded video and process the images in bulk - I'm sure there are similar programs on the Mac that we can figure out for you if that's something you think might be useful.
  2. Ya the Happauge was what j-dub suggested. I'm pretty sure you can import mp4 directly into imovie so I think I'll be all set Thanks for the info!
  3. Hey Morgy!

Hehe video recording stuff is fun! I'll guess jww recommended a Hauppauge or something similar. The video is recorded/saved to your computer in your choice of several formats. In the case of my capture unit (Hauppauge HD PVR) it can record in either .MP4, .M2TS, or .TS. I don't know about iMovie but the .MP4 format just drags and drops straight into Windows Movie Maker. So, I guess the answer to your question is that you don't really need any additional software between the capture device and your final editing software.

I know that DayneOram has a Mac and does video editing for the Creator Spotlight crew, so he can probably provide some more specific answers. I'll be happy to ask him for you if you like.
  4. Hey Taffey Quick question - once you have your video downloaded to your computer from your capture device, what software do you use to get it into imovie or whatever editing program you use? Does it import directly into imovie? I'm thinking of picking up a capture device for use on my MacBookPro (cuz you know this is a totally necessary toy ) and jww was kind enough to point me to the hardware I'd need, but now I'm wondering about the software I'd need. No major rush for a reply.
  5. lol - glad you liked it
  6. AWESOME SAUCE!

Haha, thanks, that made my day.
  7. Hmmmmm. Well, I've never had that exact problem and don't have terribly much experience with Macs, but... I'd suggest saving the file in a different format (whatever it allows you to save it as) and then manually changing the file extension later. That's worked for me before with similar problems on a PC. It's worth a shot anyway.
  8. You got any experience trying to download an m2ts file from an html link on a mac? I'm having major problems getting a file downloaded from the internet onto my laptop. It's a macbookpro and when I choose save link as it won't let me keep it as a m2ts file. Any ideas?
  9. Oh ya, I suppose I could do that as well. I guess I just didn't want to impose.

Thanks for your help! I'm sure I will have plenty more questions where my first came from.
