I wouldn't say it's fun is worth the money. I rarely pull it out now that I can do it on the guitar.
Is the keyboard fun to play? Fun enough that it'd be worth buying one? I probably won't anyway--I'm not exactly affluent and I've got more practical things I wanna' spend my money on (just bought a new laptop and I'm gonna' get a Wacom within the next couple of days), but it'd be worth considering in the future if it's fun to play with. I still wanna' get a RB2 drum set with the cymbals but I've never gotten around to it and I probably never will.
I bought one. I used to play piano so I thought I'd be better at it than I am. lol. The cool thing is once you beat the game with guitar you can play the keyboard stuff on the guitar so you get bass, guitar and keyboard options. Pretty sweet. I'm not all that good though. The nightmare stuff on expert usually puts me into fail mode about halfway in. I have a lot of DLC though. CCR, Queen, Ministry, NIN, Depeche Mode and a bunch of other single titles too.
I'm mostly a guitar guy too. I kinda' like playing drums too but I'm not very good at it, and singing is fun... but I'm even worse at that. I'm kinda' curious about the keyboard in RB3 but I'm not actually planning on getting one.

Cool. I'll do a bit of double-checking but it looks like buying a used one will be fine. I looked at the track list after replying to your last message and there are several songs on there that I really want (pretty much all of the '80s songs) and a handful that I've been eagerly waiting for and hoping would show up on a RB or as dlc so I'll definitely be picking it up soon.
I don't think there is a code on the new one... I looked in the sleeve and didn't see one. You can import songs from 2 into 3 but it's like $10 again.
I haven't gotten around to buying 3 yet. I saw that it's down to $50 at the local game store, though, so maybe I'll pick it up soon. Do you know if there are any weird limitations on the new versus used versions? Like a code that comes in the new one that lets you import songs from the old games but is lacking from the used one? I prefer to buy used games lately, but it's getting to the point where you have to research each purchase to make sure that you aren't missing something in the used one. I hate how devs are doing that kind of nonsense lately.
