That's such a pain. I had a lap top that I was working on that was a pc, but it doesn't work very well anymore. I did most of the sprites and enemies on the mac and then my husband would work on the pc to do the coding. He ended up having to write all sorts of ruby commands to get things to work the way we wanted them to. He was pretty good at it, but it was very hard. It was sorta like lbp in a way. You had to do all sorts of workarounds to get something really simple to work.
Yeah, there a quite a few Mac ones out there... google "Mac RPG Maker" to get a few. Can't find any that are BOTH PC and MAc though... <_>
The one that I was working on was a prequel to my animations. It was a legitimate rpg and it was going to be a good 40 hour game. I got really really sick like halfway through the project and when I got sick, my friends lost interest. It really sucks because I have half of the game done, a lot of the music, most of the character and the bad guys and several hundred pages of the story done. It's a huge undertaking, that's for sure. Maybe this lbp thing will make it easier. I hope so. Oh and also, i didn't know there was an rpg maker sort of thing for the mac. I'll have to look into that.
Oh, I dunno, I still haven't managed to con enough people into working with me XD And I also don't have RPG Maker XP or VX... Don't feel like paying, but don't feel like doing that... thing to get it for free either. There are other RPG Makers- more complicated ones that enable more flexibility but are more difficult to use- that ae both PC and Mac... But yeah, never was able to convince anyone to actually work with me for long... I have many ideas for stories, but right now I just have this general idea of a space RPG where the world map is space and you're in a space ship, and then you can furnish your spaceship with stuff as you travel to different planets... yeah. :/
