I didn't say it was pathetic at all. It's just never as satisfactory as it could be if based off other things. I am sure it's not the last great thing you'll ever do, so just look for your next project. Life sucks, sometimes, but not always.
Well yeah, I know how pathetic it is that I based my self worth off that, but the fact that I managed to pull that together was the only thing that I was able to make it through school each day ;-; ... ah well, whatever, Life sucks. Gotta live with it I suppose :/
People can be harsh, Rock - and pulling it all together, particularly after such a long time and so many dramas, was indeed a tremendous feat. The question is this - were you proud of what you accomplished? If so, then that's all you need to be worried about. I know heaps of people (like myself) that really enjoyed the journey you guys worked so hard to take us on. No matter what we do, there will always be critics... a sad fact of human existence. But if you've built your entire self worth on that project then you need to move on to something a bit more lasting. It's a mistake to build our self worth on the opinions of others, as they are mostly concerned with themselves - trust me on that. I've had several decades worth of finding that out the hard way!
The problem isn't the contests, it was the generally lukewarm and hostile reception of the thing I've spent the past 20 months on and which I've based my entire self worth on and built up anticipation of the accolades I get when I accomplished this tremendous feat. ... Great, now I'm crying. Ah well, just felt that I should say that... Just cause. :/
