Well.. did you even hear from the refurbish person locally? If I was looking at repair, unless it was a slam dunk easy deal, I think I would rather pick Sony now that I have hread what others have said, but that is kinda pricey. Sara had some recommendations, but seemed to be mostly for replacement HDD and that doesn't seem to be your issue. I kinda like the new purchase approach and possibly fixing the old one at some point.. maybe your family might want one. Where that new purchase is... wow. I would recheck your options tomorrow. Like how soon could someone get one and will they hold it if it is local.. no sense driving all over the place. Also check Sam's if you have a membership available and in stock. IF none of those purchases seem to land right, try Newegg or possibly some other online options. I just can't think of any offhand unless you start searching Google for more options.

yep - If I do the best UPS shipping it would be two days processing and one day delivery - not including weekends... so Monday if I was very lucky. Or I drive into Chicago Tomorrow or Friday night... but I'd have to confirm that that specific Game Stop had it in stock. The other option is I go with a refurbish locally... god - too many choices!
argh... rock and a hard place for sure. I guess newegg or that J & R unless you can locate one somewhat close and snag one this weekend or yet this week. This is freaky!!!
yea, the extra stuff is sort of a kill for me. That egg place Sara mentioned has the 250 but It looks like Wednesday is the earliest I can expect that.
Hmm may have been dependent on what they ordered, though it does say on that item that it ships within 24 hours. Hate that there is all the extra junk with it though.
Oh.. didn't see it was a bundle.. Dang.. I was just thinking up electronics places I have gotten things from quickly. Tiger Direct is somewhere I can order before 3pm and have it the next day on most stuff with standard ups rates.
