You also need to reset your cable usage on the PS3. You also need to choose component on your tv. Do not also have the HDMI cable plugged in. It is one or the other. Hook everything up..including the usb to the computer, then turn on the PS3 via holding down the button on the PS3 for like 5 secs. It will beep. It will reset the video out. ... now you can probably see the tv looking default huge and awful. Fire up the controller (hold ps3 button) log in and go to display settings. Choose to use the D component cables and arrow over to select 480p 780p and 1080i. Do not select 1080p !! Once you cycle through all that, it should be good to go. Then fire up computer and then the software on the computer. You should now have a signal.
So last night I had the cables going in from the ps3 to the unit and the usb hooked into the computer from the unit and it said no video signal detected..... is there something I messed up then? I figured I had to hook it to the TV then from the TV to the computer but your saying it's to the TV and the computer from the unit.... then why didn't I have a signal.? lol Oh well, I'll figure it out.
Glad today is better! Best way to think of it is a pass through device. It bascially sits in the middle of the PS3 and the TV and intercepts the signal sent to your TV and sends it to your computer via the USB cable. You can see it display on your laptop, but it is a few seconds behind and best to just watch your tv.
Well the day today is better than last night That isn't too hard to do though as last night was just a mess. lol Seriously no worries about tripping that last night. I didn't loose much and it was my own fault for letting it run. I could never be mad at you anyway. Got the software for the HD PVR all squared away last night. Bought the stuff from one of the developers specifically for the Happauge and he sent the key within a half hour of my purchase so yay! I have to finish hooking up the cables tonight. Didn't realize I had to hook it to the tv, then the TV to the computer. Figured I could go right from the ps3. Doh! lol.
