We hope to find out at the next doctor appointment in a couple weeks. I understand why some people wait, but I want to know immediately! I feel like it's a surprise either way, it's just whether you want to know sooner than later and I prefer sooner to help prepare and ready myself.
Well to some degree you have, lol! I think if people really comprehended the amount of work and worry that goes into children they wouldn't have them, because they also haven't experienced the overpowering love that helps you put up with all that for the sake of this beautiful new little human being you have personally created. That tiny little pink thing becomes the centre of your universe for quite a while and although it sounds cliche, as they grow and start to discover, you yourself see the world through their eyes and it can become quite magical again. It's lovely. Someone once said that to have a child it to basically sign an agreement to have your heart walking around outside your body for the rest of your life. And it's true - for the good and the bad. But mostly the good You'll be fine I'm sure. Do you know what you're having or are you waiting for a surprise?
Haha, thanks for the advice! It's funny, before my wife and I got pregnant, all I heard was "When are you gonna have a baby? Kids are so great!", "Babies are so wonderful!", etc. Now that we are pregnant, everyone has changed their tune! "Good luck getting sleep!", "You think you're exhausted now? Just wait!", "The first six months are rough!", etc. I feel like I've been tricked!
Hey there - I'd forgotten about your forthcoming new arrival! I advise you to get all the sleep you possibly can NOW. Although if you're like my husband, you'll sleep through everything. EVERYTHING. lol! All the best - especially to your wife. The last trimester is hard work. I think it's physically the hardest so that you don't care how painful it's gonna be, you just want that baby out!
