  1. Ooh the experiment thing sounds like a good idea actually.
I'll sign up after I get back from the shops! ^__^
  2. I've only been in TCW: Blackout, so I'm not sure the exact range of what can be done and all. Sci-fi has been mixed in before as one of the writers, Clay has done a lot of interesting, sci-fi-ish stuff. I think talking to animals would be completely fine, but I think the trick of TCW is to try fitting in a tiny bit of real-life to justify a real or make-believe feature or power. So, it doesn't have to completely justify, but perhaps your character was involved in an experiment, has telekinetic powers, idk. TCW is more Sci-fi than it is fantasy, but talking to animals should be fine. which reminds me, Clay, in TCW: Blackout, actually showed us the perspective of his character, Michael's, turtle, Spike. It was awesome.
  3. Quick Question - Can my character be anything I want or does it have to be kinda believable? I want my character to have the power to talk to animals. D:
  4. Alright, thanks for reading through my messages. Nothing wrong with looking back at past wars to get the idea, although I wouldn't go back to the VERY first war, as it was a lot more disorganized then. I'd recommend looking through posts for either TCW3, TCW4, or TCWB. And remember, it's fine to look back there to get a feel for how it works, but you definitely do not need to read through all those past wars, that would be insan-ium in the cranium
  5. Hmmm sounds like a lot of fun actually, I really love writing too.
I'll have a look on the thread and maybe sign up, and I'll take a look at the past CWs too to get a feel of things, thanks for inviting me, I probably wouldn't have considered it otherwise.
  6. If you were able to understand that mouthful of posts, then that's basically what you might wanna know before signing up. Of course though, you'd still have to create a character and follow the sign-up process. Although I don't wanna act like you've already joined, it's still completely up to you of course, but it'd be great to have you on the team nonetheless.
  7. Just because this is a war, doesn't mean you have to submit the average warbuff, otherwise everyone would be writing for cocky, muscular soldiers, and that'd get boring real fast. The idea is for the roster of characters that people make up to be diverse. You can mix Sci-fi into the equation, just like Clay did a lot. We've had soldiers, medics, prisoners, and even a blind kid. Just because you're a medic though, doesn't mean you ca't fight. There always seems to have a little fighting involved at least with everyone's characters. Hopefully, things make more sense now.

P.S. Sony's Capital city in TCW is Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Microsoft's is New Natal, Texas. (Or, New New Natal, as called by some, considering it's been attacked so many freaking times during past wars. Also, Sao Paulo is real, New Natal is not. We're not sure what Nintendo's capital city is, but one of it's biggest cities is Hyrule City in Japan, although at the end of Blackout, Sony took control of it.)
  8. Now, I'm not saying you should just have a story fully planned out. In TCW, you have to strike a balance of being prepared, yet also loosey-goosey. It's pretty much required that each writer try to intertwine their character's story at one point with some other writer's character. I'm not saying you have to stick with 'em very long, but intertwining makes things interesting, yet you can still keep focusing on your character's story. Yet you want to have made some plans, especially since this is the last console war, and it's supposed to be ridiculously epic and amazing. If you want, you can look a ta few posts from Blackout for reference on what I mean, but it shouldn't take too long to understand what we're trying to achieve.
  9. It's not completely necessary that you need to know what happened to other writers' characters during Blackout. The six main writers who stuck with it to the end seem to be returning, along with past veterans, and some of their backstories are good enough to be thought of as a roundup, when molded together. The thing is, you're creating your own character, and that character plays his or her own part for the story. You don't have to make it fit somehow with everyone else's story, otherwise things would get way too messed up.
  10. By pitting the factions against eachother, they'd be responsible for their own downfalls, and then Ascension and Blackout could rule over everyone. Past console manufacturers Sega and Atari have been rumored to have made deals with the terrorist group "The Blackout". It also seems like Blackout and Ascension are trying to capture past Console War veterans such as Mercuy78, gdn001, and TheZimInvader. TCW5 takes place two months after Blackout and the terrorist groups' scheme has worked. All three factions are now at all-out war, but members of all three factions knew things about Blackout, and are going to try doing what it takes to stop them in TCW5, which is supposed to be the final Console War. Others are going along, trying to defeat the other factions.
