The three factions don't just go in all-out war suddenly though. This is actually a two-parter Console War. There was The Console Wars: Blackout, which started with the three factions at peace, and there was an organization called the L.E.D., otherwise known as the Legion of Earth Defense, which made it seem like it's purpose was to bring the factions together to create one, universal task force, similar to the U.N. I suppose. Although it's true intentions were to pit them all against eachother, waging war, and leaving eachother in ruins. This has been a scheme organized by Ascension, a returning terrorist group from past Console Wars, and Blackout, a new terrorist group with Ascension's same intentions.

See, the Console Wars are basically wars between the 3 major console manufacturers, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. It's like the Console Wars going on now, but of course, the real life console wars isn't a war, it's just competitive marketing. In The Console Wars though, it's an actual, full-out war. People join and write up characters, who can either be working for Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or be Unaffiliated, which means they're working for nobody, or someone else. I've defintiely seen the Judoons but that's at the end of the season where daleks take over Earth and Davros returns. I think the only thing I saw from that episode was the short scene where Martha checks the Doctor's heartbeat and notices there are two but now that I think of it, I think that was the scene from this Doctor Who special but it wasn't really an episode, it was before like The End of Time or something, showing all these scnes and talking about the adventures and people that came along.
You might have seen it... It's the one where intergalactic polive called the Judoon (look like rhinos) teleport this hospital onto the moon to look for this prisoner that escaped and is hiding there. (the plasmavore).
