Glad you were able to read through it all. xP I know the vast majority of it has to do with what Merc and I are writing, but that's probably because our characters are the most intertwined with the news and politics, whereas most everyone else has characters whose actions wouldn't necessarily affect characters like Gideon or Atlas. Oh, by the way, would you be up for a bit of colliding involving Megan tracking down Zhou for Virgil?

So Megan did that, launched the disarmer, & Virgil had to pilot the disarming device from inside the base ready to align with MS by disarming their set that headed to Syria & letting Sony's blow up Big N's Uzbek bases. It worked, so here's news recap from a normal guy's perspective. - Ezekiel Davidson, MS representative for the U.F. arrested today after being linked to series of briefcase bomb assassinations worldwide - MS CEO Hope Tanner responds to media outbreak by not connecting herself with Ezekiel. - Classified Nintendo data leaked across internet with secret bases/agent identities revealed. - Sony set of cruise missiles suddenly hits Nintendo bases in Uzbekistan - Virgil Lee acts as representative for Nintendo after Miyamoto's death and Iwata missing. Goes to war against Sony. - Hope responds by confirming an alliance with Nintendo, also going to war against Sony. (Virgil & Hope had a little chat post-explosion/pre-war declaring about making an alliance, btw.)
Virgil got in contact with Megan Sharp, a politician who's helping run the election campaign of David Cromney in the U.S. against Andrew Bauer, a Microsoft-sponsored candidate. She asked Virgil if he and Nintendo could help support Cromney's campaign, but he rejected. However, he remembers that the company Robotica Inc. which was originally owned by Raidou Shinkawa was taken over by Ezekiel Davidson when Raidou mysteriously disappeared, and when Ezekiel was locked away, the U.S. government took control. Virgil promised to help Megan with the campaign so long as she could sneakily access Robotica in order to find a missile disarmer inside and launch it at one of the missiles. So she found out now, and Virgil knew there'd be a disarmer because Ezekiel was tied with them and prolly the 4th party, plus the missiles matched Robotica technology, so they thought "Hey, maybe the 4th party is trying to make us choose and has one disarmer stocked away."
They could tell both factions weren't in cahoots with eachother and against Nintendo, and the technology suggested some sort of pseudo-Sony/MS technology for the missiles, hinting at a fourth party mimicking their technology which I'll reveal later. So with only an hour and a half to somehow disarm these two sets, Virgil decided they'd only try disarming one, since given that war was inevitable, let one faction's set crash into one of Nintendo's bases so Big N plays victim & go to war against the faction who attacked them, then make alliance with the faction whose missiles they disarmed but didn't tell them about. So neither Sony or MS knew they launched sets of cruise missiles on Nintendo because they weren't the ones who launched them, some mysterious fourth group actually did. But war is being told about everywhere, and Nintendo is using this opportunity to make an alliance, hiding their aligned factions' missiles so as to not arouse suspicion from their ally.
Virgil and Alkitov, while in a super-secret Nintendo underground base between Eterna City and Kyoto, found out that two sets of cruise missiles, one launched from Sony and another from MS, were heading to two of the classified, leaked Nintendo bases. Sony's was heading for Uzbekistan while Microsoft's were heading over to a base in Syria. Only Virgil, Alkitov, and another Nintendo operative Henry as well as a security analyst named Rebecca whose spent quite some time stationed underground know of the two sets of missiles, whereas the rest of the underground base and the world doesn't know about it. So yeah, only these four know supposedly.
After the synchronized set of briefcase-bomb assassinations on numerous U.F. representatives' lives across the world, it turned out the data Alkitov had Virgil retrieve wasn't really in the briefcase at all, and this "important Nintendo data" Alkitov tried obtaining at Liberas so it wouldn't get in the wrong hands was somehow taken away mid-transport. Ezekiel's the one who's been linked and is being sent off to a Microsoft military base in New Natal after MS' CEO Hope Tanner told the press that despite Ezekiel working for Microsoft, they weren't in cahoots and he would pay bla bla bla. The fact that this important info. was lost mid-transport has made Alkitov's "friend" Zhou a.k.a. Gideon a target for Virgil to be weary of, and the important Nintendo info. that was lost was quickly leaked by a mysterious source across the internet and broadcasted on national television, revealing the identifies and locations of classified Nintendo agents/bases in hiding across the Middle East.
Frinkle, I'm sorry I haven't got in touch with you about catching up on TCW. Gah, so many real life issues and dang LBPC Mafia I signed up for... nobody except amoney really went into Metropolis, although I think he's gone now anyway. As far as news reports go, the Sangria Dragon Virgil picked up from Zhou blew up, as part of a briefcase bomb assassination attempt on his and Alkitov's lives. Thankfully, they were able to throw it out the office window before it exploded, and more "briefcase bomb assassinations" were reported as well, linked to a Microsoft-aligned terrorist named Ezekiel Davidson, who sold the info. in these suitcases during the 2013 United Factions Conference at Liberas, Greenland. (right around the time of E3)
Oh yeah, by the way, sorry I still haven't updated the Newsroom. I'll be working on that for Week 1 and then get right on Week 2 incase some of the posts are just too much for ya. xD
