10 Things to Know About Chrono Chrysalis Genesis

Rate this Entry

There may be some concerns with the game suddenly releasing in parts when it was promised to be a very large release. I hope to provide some answers with ten facts.

1. Chrono Chrysalis Genesis is a temporary title.. I wont have enough time to finish it all by March 10th. However, when the second part releases, the Genesis prefix will be removed.

2. Most of Prisoners of Time(PoT) is already built. While Genesis uses mostly new content, the second part of Chrono Chrysalis is largely already built, so it wont take long to introduce the second half. I do want to redo a lot of the artwork though. Its roughly two years old.

3. Releasing in parts may be beneficial. Genesis is a lot more cinematic than PoT, which is more open world. However, Genesis has a lot of gameplay. Its not an intro, but rather an introduction to the entire series.

4.May take around an hour to complete. If not more...Even though its an intro, its still larger than your average LBP game. Only to be expanded when the PoT update releases.

5. Gets a quick start--If you tire of RPGs beginning in rural towns when the main protonist wakes from his bed, this is the game for you. THe opening episodes aims to bring plenty of action to the player.

6. Most of the systems will be introduced--This is not a demo. I will try to fit as much of the entire experience in as possible, but some mechanics wont be present until PoT for pacing purposes.

7. The story is non-cliche--While I wanted to bring some familiarity to JRPG fans, the world is bizarre. It takes place mainly in two different time periods. The future, where humans live underwater and the past where humans live above the skies. Part of the story is figuring out why humans are stuck underwater in the beginning of the game.

8. Will be the first game that needs really a save system to use a save system A lot of people are wondering how this will turn out and its pretty simple. It will function like any save system in the real gaming world. Very important because since its a larger game, players wont feel like they need to chug the entire experience in one go.

9. DO not erase completed Genesis data! PoT uses the same Memorizers. We may only need 4. I found a way to reduce the saving system using binary notation. Future chapters will also use the same memorizers and since there will be tons of secrets, some very difficult to achieve, we wouldnt want you to have to do it over again.

10. Chrono Chrysalis will evolve based on player feedback and critics. I am at a point where I am very comfortable with RPG logic. So if theres anything we should add, feel free to comment once the level drops. THis game will evolve with the community and the future of the series largely depends on its reception.
