FASTBRO'S PICK

My pick of the recently published levels...

Here's my pick of the week!

Metal Platformer by player_beyond492
Still waiting for the next VelcroJonze level? Well maybe this level will tide you over until it's release! Metal Platformer is a... Well, it's a platformer in a metal surrounding. And I'm sure you'll agree it's an excellent play!

Silhouette City by Kaiju_Kid
*Sniff* Although this level is utterly amazing and possibly the best Kaiju level so far... There is one sad fact about it... IT MAY BE KAIJU'S LAST PSP LEVEL! But on the bright side it is utterly amazing!

MEET THE CREATOR

I talk to one of the community's best creators...

Bubbly, bubbly, bubbly! This week I chatted to the awesome Valmassoi!

How did you first get into LBP?

I was playing PS3 at my friends house last January but got super bored with the game I was playing. So I rummaged through some of his games and came across Little Big Planet. Curious, I played it with him and loved it instantly even though I was absolutely horrible. He was nice about it, but I was completely embarrassed. Long story short, I played it and loved it with a couple awkward, sucky moments of my own. When I got home I instantly looked up LBP to see if they had a PSP version, because I don't have a PS3. When I saw they did I instantly bought it near the beginning of February. I zipped through story mode in one day trying to get 100% on every level. In the process I meddled around My Moon creating utterly awful things. I was overwhelmed with the amount of tools to work with. I'd explain all the details about my first few levels, and how bad they were, but I'll leave that for another story. Now onto how I got to LBPC. I played bunches and bunches of community levels including my very first: Shallow Springs. Over time I saw many LBPC logos and decided to google search it, and thus, began my membership in July.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Tough to say. Before I joined here, I made both Malbora levels that were inspired by Spark's journey levels. I absolutely love them and decided to make a platforming level. However, at the time, I created levels just by going with the flow, I didn't plan anything, I just let ideas pop into my head while blankly looking at a wall

The Bubbly levels were 100% inspired by VelcroJonze. I really enjoyed all of his levels that hold great bubble combos. So I decided to create a level focused on scenery and some bubbles, at the time. While creating, I let ideas pop into my head and asked myself, "Why don't I make this level all about bubble combos?" So I did. Also added switches to guide people in the crazy combos, yet another idea out of nowhere. I received my first Spotlight and I owe it all to VelcroJonze.

Where does your nickname come from?

Whenever I wondered if anyone would interview me, I knew they'd ask this. I'm sure people all around LBPC look at my screen name and say, "What the h**l?" Well here's your answer everyone. It's my last name. Don't try and google me because I've tried and it never shows my full name or anything about me, except this website. And one more thing, I'd like to tell you guys how to pronounce it. It's Val-Ma-Soy. Not Val-ma-ssio.Or Val-ma-salomi. Val-ma-Soy. Done.

What other games are you into?

Well I've always been a Nintendo person since I was little, but honestly their games suck now. I'm super disappointed. I've been into Metroid Prime Trilogy for a few weeks, only because it's one of the only decent games for Wii. Other than that, not much. Mostly PSP games. LittleBigPlanet, Resistance: Retribution, and Patapon 2. I cannot wait until Patapon 3!!

Any hints on upcoming levels?

Well I'm part of the 12 days of christmas, so expect something from me when the time comes. Other than that, I'm preparing to conclude the Bubbly Series with bubbles, of course. And then I'd like to conclude my Patapon mini-series. It got great feedback on the community moon and I feel back I haven't gotten to it.

THE HISTORY OF LITTLEBIGPLANET PSP

How it all begun...

Chapter 5: Happy New Year
The new year brought a whole batch of new creators. (Mainly due to Christmas Gifts...) January marked the debate of Spark151, BlueBulletBill, Salieri and uh... Moi. These creators would go on to become some of the most long-lasting members of our community. (ALL of them are still making levels today!)

I just found out about this site....
So I might need help doing stuff and yeah...
Another big event in this month was the first DLC pack, released on the 7th! "The Sack That Time Forgot!" Featuring a selection of prehistoric stickers and costume pieces!

But there was a little bit of a mix-up with the DLC... Though we'll cover that next week!

LITTLEBIGNEWS

DLC, Contests and much, much more!

No news this week... Though be sure to check out Awesome Interview with Salieri!

SPECIAL FEATURE: KINDRED INTERVIEWSTHE LOST ANSWERS

Kindred news... Straight from the horse's mouth!

You may remember that Kindred Interview I ran last week... Well, one set of answers got through a little late! So I now present Salieri's answers!

How many times have you been abused by the Hoarder?

The Hoarder only abuses people on the factory floor when they're lagging behind on production. I work flexi-time so I don't even see him much, but I do get a lot of passive-aggressive memos.

What types of gameplay can we expect from the project?

Oooh, lots of types. I think I'm allowed to tell you that one of the principal objectives of the project is to offer very varied gameplay in the context of a cohesive story.

Who first came up with the name "Kindred"?

Oh, um, well that will involve going back over our old threads. You only need one of us to answer that question, and my particular position on the team is evading work. Hopefully someone will give you an answer to that.

Out of the 3 race posters revealed which is your favourite?

Race posters? I rather like this one:

RANDOMNESS

*Throws common sense out the window*

Now written by Fastbro...

Heeeey Guys! Time for Randomness! First I'd like to say, sorry this Issue was late I was uh... busy. But don't worry I have some killer info for you guys to make up for it! The equation for EPICNESS!

Bear in Tree + Trampoline x Tranquilzer Dart = EPICNESS!

Hope you had fun!
