Project cube is my project of building a working rubik's cube in LBP2
If I would use creative titles in my blog entries, this one would be named "Problems everywhere!" because that's pretty much what has been happening.
Not only did I realize that I have to put an and-gate on all the microchips because I didn't realize that I can only have one output active for each square at a time. The system I have now would probably freak out if I tried it.
Here is an explanation to the situation (with the same old photo), look at the tags to the right
The colour that is active is set to always be on, so that it will activate the input on the left side. One thing I didn't think of was that I need to only have the output active when I need it, now it would take all active inputs when activated which would mean that it would definately not work. I need to modify the tags to the right a bit to make it all work. I already have a solution but it takes a lot of work... ah well, this whole project is a lot of work.
Then another big problem I found yesterday but fixed today. I learned that a tag and a tag sensor does not work if they are on the same microchip. Well, I had all the microchips on one big microchip. I thought that I would kinda have to rebuild the whole thing but then I realized that no microchip has the same input and output so I only needed to move the microchips to pieces of light matter. (I used that instead of dark matter because stickers are showing better, I need them coloured) Then there was another problem... the sensor radius. It was set on the default 20 something because I had thought it would all work on the same chip. So, I modified every single tag sensor to receive signals from a radius of 1000. (a bit overkill but I better be safe) This made me appreciate the multiedit function even more, I was able to edit all tag sensors inside a microchip at once (there are either 36 or 24 of them, imagine editing all seperately...)
So, now the layout looks like this:
I moved them all into a row because the microchips would have been overlapping which may cause problems when editing stuff.
That's all for today, I'll probably make a new diary post when I have the tags fixed so that the system really works. (and I thought I was ready with it 5 days ago or so...)
