I must try to keep these blogs more up to date!

The festive season is over, and it's one I would prefer to forget. A week before Christmas, I had a bad fall down the stairs and hurt my back. After spending 9 hours in A&E, it turned out all I'd done was compressed and traumatised my spine.

I've just finished the painkillers, and can move around more freely now, though it still twinges when I bend or twist - or is that old age?

Talking of age, I'm quickly approaching 40. Jeez! I'm never sure what younger people think about older gamers, and apart from being the butt of some good-humoured 'old' jokes, it doens't seem to matter that much. All to the good, I say.

LBP-wise, it looks like we've survived the water level onslaught. I can hardly complain, with my level, The Sandcastle, using it. However, now and then I get the urge to try something a bit different for me. And the time is about now!

Not many details yet, but I'm HOPING it will be a bit special.

Cheers for reading

All you had done was compress and traumatise your spine? That sounds pretty bad to me.

Isn't 40 the new 30? Or was 30 the new 20? I can never remember the actual phrase, but I do know you get to take 10 years off your age at some point. Claim it when you want

Btw Adi and I played The Sandcastle yesterday and enjoyed it very much, we will look forward to your 'something different'!

Sorry to hear about the back problem - as I was told when I had 2 weeks in hospital on all sorts of drugs after buggerin' up my lower lumbar spine region " you have joined 80% of the population who suffer from back pain" - Jeez I thought, thats comforting.

Without wishing to be the harbinger of doom you want to watch the back thing cos' it will now be with you in one form of annoyance or another until end of days. Just don't lift anything ever - thats what I do heh heh.

Oh yeah if you were prescribed Diazapam or similar muscle relaxants make sure you just stop taking it asap so u don't get hooked, and prepare your husband for a bit of cold turkey depression as the effects wear off ... seriously!
