8/33. FFXI Boss Fight tech demo. It seems to capture the ATB system pretty well, but it still has a long way to go.

Venat's thread description is pretty telling - he assumes that we're going to find fault with the gameplay, or the difficulty, and that people are going to complain about it. He makes the suggestion that he'd rather you move along than stop to antagonize him.

And there's part of our problem, innit? We're in a game that encourages us to share our creativity with others. The more experience we already have with creative endeavors and sharing, the easier it is for us to network, accept criticism, and so on.

But here's a game any old school teacher, school kid, or school janitor can pick up. And we all have to learn how to play well together. And for some of us, that's completely alien territory.

I decided to ask him what he wanted from me, from us, by posting the thread in the first place. If I'm lucky, I'll get an answer...maybe help someone who may not have known he wanted or needed it. If I'm not lucky, he won't respond, or he'll scuff me up a little...and it'll still be no real harm done.
