My Goat, she's been....Goatnapped!

A Goatnapping in a Small Town

So, as I mentioned last time, my goat ran away from home. I figured she'd been eaten by coyotes or something and didn't give any more thought on it. A week later, I'm coming home and turn down my driveway and a car comes in behind me. I hop out and before I can say anything, the lady behind the wheel goes, "Are you missing a goat?" I said, "I AM missing a goat! Didja find her?" She says "yep" that she was going down the road and this goat was out by the fence about 5 miles from my house, so she took it to their house, figuring it escaped from somebody and they'd come looking for it.
She also had a car load of kids (not baby goats) and they were climbing everywhere. She says the kids fell in love with the goat and gave her a name and have been playing with her and the dogs get along with her and the kids even led it into the house one day! She's telling me all this and I can see the kids really like the goat. She asks if I want that she can bring it back to me. I says, nah, not right now, as I had to go pick up my own kids (again, not baby goats) and take them to t-ball practice. She says that's fine and I tell her, "well, do you want to just keep her?" I see all the kids' (NOT BABY GOATS!) faces light up and even the mom smiled real big and she gave that look like Yes, they want to keep it.
Then the back of my brain said hold on a sec, you better clear this with Sergeant Major Wife first. So I tell the lady, I better talk to my wife first and see what she says. I give her our number and tell her to call back later that evening or the next day and I'd let her know. She never called back! She knows I don't know her or where she lives. They Goatnapped my goat! I know what you're thinking. That I said they could have it. No, I recanted that and said I'd better ask my wife first. Oh woes is me! My poor goat is Goatnapped! I wonder if I can get her picture on a bag of goat feed or something?

Nothing to report I am taking a break from LBP and the Spotlight crew for a little while though. Getting so busy in real life that I just can't keep up. I shall return though and hopefully with new attitude and zeal. Peace, out!
