More Consequences

Rate this Entry
I'm back to talk more about consequences. This time, it's on positive and negative consequences. Positive consequences are consequences where your parents (or teachers) give you something while negative consequences are consequences where your parents (or teachers) take something away from you. Remember, they can be good or bad. If it's good, it's a reward. If it's bad, it's a punishment.

Positive Consequences - Reward

If you are the parent, these consequences are like paying kids for doing chores, taking them to the circus, buying them their favorite video game etc. Technically, this is where you give them treats.

Negative Consequences - Reward

These consequences, unlike positive consequences, are when you take something bad away from your kids. An example of this is deducting time from doing chores if chores are a daily thing.

Positive Consequences - Punishment

These consequences are the opposite of negative consequences as rewards. This time, you give the kids something they don't like as penalty. One example is giving kids extra veggies on their plate or make them wash dishes.

Negative Consequences - Punishment

These consequences are the opposite of positive consequences as rewards. This is where you take away their privileges. Phone confiscation and restricting them from watching TV are two good examples of this.

That's all I can say about consequences for this entry and last entry.
