Ragdoll Zombie Project

Rate this Entry
Hi guys! I just made this blog to talk about my new project I'm working on. Im making a ragdoll zombie survival using the realistic ragdoll logic I created. So far its going along VERY well! There are still some bugs like the overpowered knife, and what I call "doin da worm" but they are pretty easy to fix. To see what its like, click the video!

As you can see, I've added these things:
  • Basic movement
  • Shooting gun
  • Stabbing knife
  • Zombies have different behaviors when losing specific lims
  • Your health bar only regenerates when not near any zombies (this might be changed)
  • Players can revive eachother

Things I might add are:
  • Multiple weapons
  • Character selection
  • Randomized zombie appearence
  • Different types of zombies (like Left For Dead)
  • Upgrades (health packs ect.)
  • The ability to grab ropes, ledges, objects, ect.
  • Playable zombies

Thats all for now! If you guys have any suggestions or questions feel free to comment below! I will keep you guys updated with what I've added. Support is much appreciated.

Wow this looks great, well the Zombies and Playable characters do, I take it it is quite earlier in development

It is pretty early in development. Its just a toy to play with right now but when I add the new features, it will be an actual game. Right now I'm thinking the playable zombies will just be able to do what they do now, but when I make the new types of zombies, there will be more variety. The playable survivors will just have more weapons and upgrades.

Well Im making a Top-Down Frontier Series With Zombies!! Just started it, its hard to make an Axe Swing and still rotate with you , But mine is quite early development as well. And also do you hav a forum on this project?? I would like to keep up with it

I will make a forum soon.

Heres an idea for your axe:

    - You could attach two pieces hologram material to your controlinator or character with tags on each end saying "point 1" and "point 2".
    - Then on the bace of your hologram material (where you want the axe to be) but another tag saying "follow me".
    - Then edit your axe with a follower, following the "follow me" tag.
    - Then make two look-at rotators and set each one to follow "point 1" and "point 2".

once you do this you can attach the controls and there you go!

good idea, I know its very early in Dev but I feel like its Logic can be simplified alot.

Yea, so far I am simplifying a lot! Most of the stuff there is experimental and isn't hooked up to anything.
