I remember that I thought my mom left me at the swimming pool when I was 5. I was so mad that I started to walk home by myself. I made it nearly 2 miles before my family found me. Turned out that she simply left to do some grocery shopping and I just forgot. I also remember we had an ice storm and my dad had to carry my sister and me up the stairs to our nursery school when we were 3. I also remember on the same day that I got a bubble gum cigar, and bubble gum always made me happy. I remember we also got a new kitten (Puff) and a new collie puppy (Ladybug) when we were 4.

Actually, I remember being very young but I don't remember much from junior high and high school. I remember being very shy when I was little. However, the problem was that my sister and I are identical twins, and that caused us to get a lot of attention. We hated that. I would have preferred being invisible.

I think things were just bad enough as time went on that I chose not to remember much from the later years.

I'm home now, Brem. I had dinner out with friends from work. It was nice getting out for a change. How are you tonight?

Oh yes, also the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman, the original series of V, Star Trek, push bikes with "chopper" handlebars, falling out of trees all the time, having the school ring your parents about something you did and having your parents side with the teacher, mesh tops, tube skirts, fingerless gloves, kayaks (shoes), treads (shoes made out of old tires), waiting for hours to hear your favourite song on the radio... can't think of more at the moment.

We were very poor too, although we always had video games (just no food.. I remember living for weeks on minced meat with a bit of salt on it). But yeah, we played outside all the time. I also remember: Star Wars and waiting years for the sequels, seat belts becoming compulsory, Grease, Elvis's death, John Lennon's death (my parents were big Beatles fans). being smacked by the teachers, being able to go out all day on our bikes as long as we were home by dinner time, no AIDS, Queen, Highlander, MTV, Top of the Pops, The Republic Debate in Australia, the advent of Sunday trading... record players and then cassette players, having to wait a year in between movies like 'The Sound of Music' and 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' coming on TV (pre-video), bonfire night being legal (Guy Fawkes night), firecrackers being purchasable in corner stores, being able to leave your house and car unlocked, brilliant new rides like the Gravitron, the Dark Crystal, the Muppet Show...

Dr Who, the (original) Rubik's Cube, rollerskating, Fleetwood Mac, Wings, Kiss, The Village People, Space Invaders, the crashing of Sky Lab (which I was SURE was going to land on my house), Disco music and the emergence of electro-pop, 80s fashions and awesome music, Pee Wee Herman, John Hughes movies and the arrival of VCRs... how's that for a start?

Cramming for what? A test?
