Yes, that will do it. But you need to get the dehydration under control, asap. You can sip sports drinks or preferbly things like Gastrolyte or similar that are specifically designed to replenish the body's electrlytes. Water will not cut it at this point, at all. A human can die within a few days from dehydration whereas starvation can take months. When my kids have had gastro with vomiting and... er.. etc... I always use lemonade icypoles to help hydrate them and the ice suppresses the stomach's vomit instinct. You could freeze some sports drinks if you find you can't keep any fluids down, and suck the drink cubes.

Glad you're ok now. I guess it can sneak up on you...especially since you live in such hot climate.

We sat in the sun at the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis a couple of months ago. I swear I felt like I was melting. We had water and gatoraid in our coolers, along with washrags to dip into the ice. I'd put the cold, wet washcloth around my neck to try to cool off. Every time I felt nauseated I'd drink more water or gatoraid. That was not a fun day.
