  1. hmm that's good. Clay give me a somewhat same idea of that in beta.
    but i was thinking what about jump pads? i don't want
    my jump logic going off when i hit one. like it did in beta. (it was kinda crazy)
    so i was thinking tag only the zones your able to jump in,
    then you can't jump again till you fall
    in a tag zone again. so that way same parts of the level the
    jump works and in other parts it does not.
    but I've yet to test this idea.
  2. hmm even tho I'm not working on my levels yet.
    some advice with something. when it comes to custom jumps.
    what kind is best? i was thinking a fast jump when you push x you jump fast and 2x high
    as normal. and then you can push another button or x again to fall fast.
    i learned how to do fast running logic no problem. but jumps seem little tricky.
    because of i had a hard time knowing whats the best way to go about it. impact senses
    keep wanting to go off even when you hit a wall. i got a better idea after that
    to tag the zones you can jump in. i got lots of game play ideas. but any advice yet?

  6. Hey I've been slowly making a level series.
    not the levels yet. just all the ideas and story and characters for over an year and half now.
    I'm just lately trying to write down the story that i been messing with all this time.
    mostly just have made the character designs.
    have made over 40 high level costumes on LBP2 for it.
    still need some more. but got artist block.
    i was wanting the levels to least be close as good as LBP2's
    storymode levels. but i lately think that i should get help.
    as I'm mostly just a costume and idea maker.
    I'm OK at levels but i got lot to learn.
    been learning from Luos and clay somewhat when i play with them.

    So wanted to ask if you be interested in helping?
    most of my creator friends are all to busy on their own projects
    and can only give me advice. if you want to know more about it, just say.
    not much of it is made yet anyway. got most of the story down, the first chapter anyways.
    but i still need to write it down on PC.
  7. Ah well, I understand the LBP1 only flag then, I suppose it'd be compromises to get the series looking good in both clients and a good bit of work. Plus working on new projects is more interesting than extensively tweaking older releases.
  8. I see that you've gotten the False Idols series back up and published. I'll got some of them queued up, I'm curious to see how the lighting and engine processing improvements have altered the play experience. I remember that the slowdowns in some areas of 0 and the ending of 1 added well to the surreality. Also the lighting in LBP2 doesn't translate the same and you've got some strong use of it throughout.

    Are you ready for all the frowny face rating from people who don't understand why the level isn't more lobotomized and easy to finish?

This is kind of a favorites list, but it's meant to be a suggestion for what you should study and know as builders in LBP, especially now that 2 lets us go all out and break the mold. It's like if you were going to tell someone to study the 90's, they'd need to pick up at least one Nirvana and 2 Pac album. These are what I consider prerequisite crash courses.

For anyone that cares about sackbot logic and knows/loves Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, today I sat down and got a perfect double jump + wings + shadow, AND the down-up-X sky rocketing gravity jump to work as well on my Alucard (also with shadowy, trajectory trail).
