  1. Writers and story planners still can help lots in a story, but I don't think we'll get very far with just the two of us. Still though, I'm not sure exactly sure as to how we'd approach a thread for this. :F Maybe just mention something in the Programming thread before we decide on an official thread for this?
  2. Your creepy smiles haunt me. And well, I could commit to maybe help writing and such, but what I mean is, you know, I'm still just a little beginner in terms of Python and programming in general, so I wouldn't be able to offer much aside from our stretched out conversations.. and such.

  4. Yeah, I mean, there are some interesting things that have been done with Pygame. Not too many RPG projects I can find on Youtube, but the language definitely allows for some nice results for games.

    2D would probably be the best approach. I mean, I'm having trouble trying to find some quality tutorials to teach me or anyone else interested in spriting characters and environments that aren't strictly dealing with Pokemon or anime characters, but I'm sure there's some good resources out there.. aside from that though, yeah, 3D game development would probably be too complex. I guess technically it could work, I've seen someone make some prototypes for an FPS using Python and Blender, but uhh... yeah 2D works best.

    As for which project to do, I dunno. I don't want to have to be the one who decides, but I'm sure we'll be able to come to an agreement. ^^
  5. Oh, darn. So wait, 30 bucks per computer? That.. hmm....

    Well, I'm not saying we have to use Python/Pygame, but I will say that both softwares are totally free to use.
  6. Ooh, I just looked at one of the screenshot showcases, pretty impressive results. ^^

    My focus was on Pygame at first simply because many people in their tutorials mentioned it as a good way to use the language for game development, but I only mentioned that because it dealt with what I was learning, I wouldn't want to force any other potential creators of the RPG to abide by what I would be teaching myself, whatever program is best for this project is what we should be looking at. I am curious though, do you know if there's any full-on programming involved with RPG Maker/Zelda Engine, or is it something else?
  7. Well I'd start one but since you first brought it up plus you're prolly better at RPG threads anyway. I can understand how some might be hesitant though, since, well, no offence, but I know that some of your projects have gone unfinished. So uhh.. whatever works I guess. Oh, and I was just lurking your conversation with Burn. I'm not sure what the zelda engine is, but I do appreciate his encouragement of Python, now let's bug him to see if he can help. >.>
  8. You've been here almost FIVE years. Any jokes that would be made towards you have probably been used already, and thus would be a cheap shot at roasting you. (or roasting the peanuts, see there I go with the bad jokes.)

    But yeah, wow you've already filled up my front page. o-o

I mean like, create a thread to ask people what they're good at computerwise for unannounced project of yours, but I'm sure it'll be a chance for people to spew math jokes and Rabid-Coot slipping in something clever for more thanks. But still, it could at least help us see where some of the newer members stand experience-wise, whether that be in the coding department or maybe those who know a thing or two about spriting and art assets. (and such..)
  10. Eeeehhh I dunno. If I was to largely assist in RPG I'd prolly wanna do something new, but Naruto works if a bunch of people can help out. But we need RPG-helping team either way. I know gdn likes to program and Ayneh has experience herself, but that's about the only two I know. Why not create mysterious "Are you good at this" thread? :>
