Oh, hello. Yer welcome for that code again, I've never really been able to get into fighting games though. But hey, at least I can count on your news and judging for the game, which is nice. (in case I do feel inclined to get the game when it comes out. Until then, the wait goes on for Sly 4.)

My first game project was IMMENSELY AMBITIOUS, because with a small team, we were trying to best AAA games... :S
We obviously learned that we couldn't beat the worlds best games, so over time we narrowed our goal down until we stopped making it...

Learning from that, I know it would be best to start off with a dinky little 2D game...and I thought about doing that, but I really wanna make something 3D. Essentially I want to try to make something (kinda) ambitious again, but I sorta know what I'm doing this time.
I plan to make something story-based, minigames just don't satisfy me.

Yes, it would require 3D modeling and graphic work, but I'm actually sorta good with graphic work, and I really wanna learn how to make more 3D stuff.

Oh, I plan to use Blender, yeah. :S

Another idea is to just build an engine myself with Java or something, but that would take a lot of work that I don't want to get into.

Yeah, I suppose.

I've worked with game engines before, and now that I think about it, I may go with Unity or Torque 3D. (Torque 3D just went free and open-source recently.)

Unity is a problem because it lacks flexibility in some manners, and it isn't very good for large environments. Torque has poor documentation, the code is a hassle to use, and it's difficult to import models into and such. Ughhhh.

No game engine seems good enough, I could go into detail about all of them (like UDK, CryEngine) if you'd like and say why each has a problem.

The "3D" part would require a lot of modeling/texturing/rigging/etc. I know a little about each part, but not as much as I should, hopefully I'll learn much more as the game progresses.

I thought about making a 2D game, but I REALLY wanna make a 3D game, 2D just doesn't satisfy me.
