  1. hey hered you played tomba on your compu *coughcough* ter and was wondering how you did that?
  2. I remember you saying you liked Interpol on the good music thread before. Dunno if you're interested, but the lead singers solo project which comes out on the 4th of August has already leaked onto the internet. I gotta say... it's certainly far from interpol! Good though.
Just recently got the time to finally get into Beirut too. They're awesome!

Cheers for the tips. I might look into Reason, and possibly getting a midi controller at some point. The full blown keyboard is just too awkward unless I get a laptop or something. But it'll probably come in handy if I'm recording some live instruments too.

Your Korg padkontrol looks pretty nifty, seems a lot more responsive than some drum pads.

I finally got some tracks up on Soundcloud, its a very nice site for sharing original tracks. Its a bit like the Vimeo for music rather than videos.
Heres my Soundcloud! Have a listen to Sauerkraut, cause the other track is really just a demo of it.

also, before you showed me that Monome, I found some videos of a similar yoke

Oh hey, just curious about your music. What kinda equipment do you use? Do you get most of the producing done on the computer? And what programs do you use?

I'm really eager to start learning the ins and outs of making my own music... I've had a fairly pricey Roland fantom synth for a year now, but haven't had the time to use it other than for piano practice.

Also I got my hands on Ableton Live recently. Its seriously beautiful to work with. Very versatile for both composing and live performance. Made 2 or 3 tracks so far. Might be uploading them to youtube at some point so I'll give you a link when thats done

Awesome, you've got your music done!

Here's my idea for the level aesthetics. Have the player spawn in a space-pod type thing, or a train. It goes along and plays the music (if thats the way you've laid out your music playing device). You could have the background constantly changing, and infinite. Just have each segment on wheels and have them spawning past. You could make them fly past at whatever speed to give the illusion of the pod accelerating.

It'd be awesome to have the global lighting change alot, like the journey brings you underwater and everything goes blue

    Wadaya think?

Hey Sosaku... I heard you lost your new level along with other profile stuff
My deepest condolences, I was lookin forward to your level
I only lost some small level before, but still found it really hard to start all over, especially since there's so much trial and error in creating.
Maybe you should have a shot at making a music level for the contest, it could be a nice break from having to rebuild everything. We've already got 4 or 5 entrants, 2 are already up
  7. Holy cr*p! Your car is insane! Great job with that! This is exactly why we need better stickers to 'paint' with!

Ooh got loadsa prefuse! Mostly downloaded but I did buy One Word Extinguisher. Its great stuff altogether

I'd recommend the Knife's first and second album. The 3rd is a fairly dark and has lots of underlying themes which is great... but gets a bit heavy.

I'll send ye a key to the music level I'm working on. Its almost done. I'm pretty happy with the music in it so far.

Hey dude, I've made a bitta progress on that music loop level, I've got a project thread if you wanna see what I've done with it so far. Its all sounding kinda cool, but I might change the music around a bit to make it flow more seamlessly. I'll add you on psn, so if you want I can show u sometime.

Also picked up Kurosawa's movie Ran the other day. Saw it in the shop for a tenner, and its special edition and all

Never heard of it or anything but sounds class, since its based on King Lear. Shakespears always a good place to start.

I had a browse on youtube through some of Prefuse 73's stuff. Pretty class. I kinda recognised the name and just noticed now that he was on Warp.

Do you listen to the Knife at all? They're swedish, so the lead singers voice is kind of an acquired taste. I really like their first album and also the band Honey is Cool which the lead singer Karin was in before the Knife.
