Yeah, that idea's crossed our minds more than once as well. It all comes down to openness: our goal for the site is for it to be as accessible as possible without reducing quality. Right now, that kind of limitation goes against what we've been working toward.

However, if there was a way to do it through vbExperience (which there isn't at the moment, although there may be in the future), we'd add it in somehow. Post count just isn't reliable enough of a meter to judge a member's overall interest in the site. Plus, vbExperience encourages interaction overall, not just posts.

We've had this discussion, the staff, and the only way to do it currently is by post count. We don't want to encourage members to post who would otherwise not care to do so, because it would result in more worthless posts. It would also restrict new, skilled creators from posting their level, and we don't want to make it difficult to share your level here.
