  1. Okay, you should have two PMs.
  2. I didn't say your level annoyed me. I was just saying that area did. I am sending my report of the level through PM after I paste the notepad into PM.
  3. Finally cleared it. Nevermind about space between doors because somehow I failed to realize you can stand in front plane of the paintinator box. But as for the spot that emits all the blocks, that needs some work, like more space and paint and jet emitted further to right and left so they won't fall into crevice and cause uneccessary annoyance.
  4. I am extremely annoyed right now to the point where I should probably cool down before commenting, but I'll keep my composure and comment anyways. The part with the puzzle is ridiculous. The start gate has been up for a long time. You have a really tiny space between the two lectric doors to fit yourself and the red block in. But that wasn't the part that POd me. The part that POs me is the electric blocks on the upper level. Trying to get yourself and the paintinator block in there at the same time just doesn't work very well. Very horrible level design, but genius puzzle. Just being honest. It wouldn't be so bad if you gave more space between each of the electric doors. It has annoyed me to the point where it makes me not want to play the level. It's not just that part either. It's how this entire puzzle area is set up. Even the emmited paint switch and jetpack fall over the edge into the crevice after emitted, and at the same time you're trying to get the blocks out of the way of each other you keep grabbing jet pack, then paintinator, when you're not trying to. Oh, I just went and finally got myself and the box in there, fired the paint to raise the gate and got shocked. I've been on this puzzle now a good 30 mins to 45 mins. It's more annoying than fun. I honestly think it's one of the most annoying things I've ever had to mess with in LBP. I am surprised that no one else that playtested this has mentioned the puzzle.
  5. I will say this now, your spotlight section is too hard to be considered normal because some of the places where you put the spikes was ridiculous, like the spikes set right after the jump, and not to mention you can't see the ones on the highest level up that leads to the finish gate because you jump up there when the spotlight is to your left, therefor there is no light in front of you to see the spikes. And that image you have at beginning of area doesn't tell me anything when it comes to the spikes.
  6. Guess what? I figured out the thing with the factory, which involves putting blocks under. But to be honest, I thought my way past them was easier. I simply use to raise the first one, then stand as close to the second one as possible without getting electrocuted and stickered, then as one above me fell and one to right rose I quickly exited the menu and moved right avoiding death, then repeated a second time to make it past all 3, but now I see the blocks are the way it's suppose to be done. Anyways, I found cons with the factory, which is the third section I've finished so far in order from top to bottom left to right. I'll tell you those cons later when I give you the report.
  7. Yay! I just did my second run through of Nirvana and my score uploaded this time of 120,949. Sadly, I didn't do a perfect run because I died 1 time the whole level, not counting forced deaths. And the part I died on is a part I never died on before, lol.

Anyways, I am going to go do what I said I was going to do and do a complete testplay of your level. You'll probably see me in it if you're on anytime soon.
  8. Looks like the last high score was beaten then, although I should be seen there with the high score as we speak, but no, darn score not uploading problem thingy, lol. Yes, I was proud of my score.

Anyways, some other good platformers are the Lost Ages ones by Deftmute. I haven't played the second yet, but I already know it's going to be good. It's supposedly a very hard platformer, though I found the first one to be pretty easy. But for atmosphere and visuals the level was great.
  9. Just finished watching Coraline. Good movie. Love the creepy atmosphere of it, which reminds me of a Tim Burton movie even though it isn't.

So what was the highest score? Last time I played it this morning it showed my high score of 115,000 and something. Before that it showed the highest score at 59,000 and something. I know you can see friend scores. I just don't know how to see the top scores without getting to scoreboard and looking. I even posted an image of my score in the level showcase thread for it, but of course it never showed up. Anyways, I'll be playing that one for a perfect run. I've never had a score fail to upload twice in a row, so it should upload my second playthrough. Figured you'd like that one. Good platforming is always good, regardless of difficulty.
  10. Sorry, I was in the other room for a little bit. I just read your IM, and that could be a possibility, but I didn't think they would spin like that. Actually, maybe not, because you'll notice in the video that the two spinning plasmas don't stay the same length apart the whole time, or even the same path. They kind of seperate from each other when they get close to ground.

Also, I am very sorry, I haven't gotten to doing what I said I was going to do yesterday about your level. It's just that late yesterday I simply had no urge to playtest for a while and take a break. After that last COMPLETE run through of Nightmare Redux, it really wore me out and made me want to take a break from playtesting. I've even told Bridget to let me know if he needed more playtesting after correcting the flaws I found, which he said he'll need another complete playthrough, though I am not looking forward to it. But NR is one playtest I can't put off because it's suppose to be released before this month is over, which is 2 or 3 days left, and it's not like Bridget can find many people capable of playtesting such a beastly level, which requires an insane amount of endurance. Two of my plays of NR including my first time, and the complete one from day before yesterday actually made me not feel too well by the time I reached the end. But the level making me sick in later half has been reduced since I can get past many obstacles with ease, plus a certain secret. The level is fun, but can really wear you out, which is why I can never beat it without pausing the PS3 and going and doing something else for a while.

As for your level, I wanted to do that tonight, but not even sure if I'll get to it tonight. Is the final version ready for testing? . . . like every section done? Just curious about progress.

I know I probably shouldn't ask you this after I failed to do what I said I would, but there is this fun platformer called Nirvana by xCHAZBEARx and he says it's challenging and someone even complained about difficulty, but I found it easy and when I played it yesterday I almost doubled the current high score, but then my score failed to upload. So I was wondering if it shows me at first place on scores or not? Is there a way to see top scores without beating a level? If there is how? Even though it failed to upload, I went to try it today and it showed my high score, which was odd since it never uploaded. But I couldn't find out if it was the highest since I quit the level without finishing today since I died far in when I was trying to do a perfect run. I'll get to it later, but I am recommending it at the same time I am asking you what it shows my place at on scoreboard. It's not an expert level, but it is a good platformer.

Levels gone wrong.

by Burnvictim42 on 09-13-2009 at 04:59 AM
Hey everybody! I have an opinion about something, listen to me! (thanks swan )

I think most of us have experienced this in one way or another- where an idea sounds good in your own mind, but doesn't work necessarily well in LBP. Or where you plan out a level and realize you can't even fit half of the stuff in there due to thermometer restrictions. Or where you start building a level realize something won't work the way you want it to, and need to rebuild entire sections. Or

Bloggity Blog Blog... 2 bits!

by Burnvictim42 on 09-11-2009 at 02:46 AM
Alrighty then, so basically, i'm in the blogging section often enough, i might as well give others the chance to bother ME with their comments Plus, i've been meaning to start one for a while, but now we come to the crux of the matter: What should i blog for a topic?

It should be something meaningful, but not so meaningful as to start an entire new topic necessarily, (though hilightnotes' recent blogs seem to be a topic of their own ) and of course it should be relevant to
