Was it with a capture hardware or with a in-game tool?

Hey, if I wanted to make a website, that looks like it's all drawn on a sketchbook, would I take a picture of the background, draw every link (and their animations) on seperate sheets of paper, take pictures of those, then mash it all together? (cropping the links out from the paper) You probably have no idea, but neither do I...at least, does it sound like it could work?
