I dunno...I would apply but...
You know :(
You do ;)
And then there's Uncharted 2 coming...
yes, i've decided to join the team, and right now i'm working on a minigame many others have deemed "madness". I promptly replied that this was in fact, Sparta, so i can do watever the heck i want :p
My guess is i will be doing levels afterwards though :p
Cannot wait for this project!
anybody else as concerned as me about this game NOT having a social group?
idk maybe i'm just being paranoid but i feel as if threads don't last forever
Yup, like whaaaaale said, theres a special forum for it. And while threads may not last forever, they CAN be revived if the need occurs :p
I wouldn't say it's no different- I'd say it's a million times better :p. A social group would essentially just be a thread, whereas the forum is an entire forum. Really helps with organization when you have a thread for each level :p.
Anyway... SLS10 seems to be working fast on his level (No, you cannot know what it is yet). KoRnDawwg is nearing the end of Level 2 now that he has the MGS pack, and burnvictim is starting his minigame which blows the minds of the entire team.
Seriously, burnvictim. Is this the first LBP level of said genre? O-o
ANYWAY... Takelow hasn't been working on his level due to work, but he doesn't have too much left to do- cleaning up English in Level 3 (Oh joy, my favorite part of the job <_>) and making the electrified peanuts (I won't tell you what that means :p) and adding the text for the minigame.
As for Levels 4 and 5... I think Rick and Lady will continue to make level 5, but they haven't been here a while... and finding replacements may be hard D:. And Zwollie and level 4? I think Zwollie will continue, which I hope he does, that level's awesome beyond reason. ah well :p.
You guys realize that if people don't like the mini-game very much they will be very sad what with all the praise you are giving it! @_@
I'm not sure if its the first of a genre... though i've never really searched :p I know there are "similar" levels, the similar being in quotes because though they may be titled similarly, i think mine is going a few steps further :p
Darn right it is, BV!
It'll be mega, and you'll do us proud. No pressure... ;)
Seriously, Burn's minigame is...Well, a beast. I am really looking forward to it...I'm sure others are too ;) I just hope you can pull it off pal! It'll be immense!
Will the levels all be published locked except for the first and you need to finish each one to get a key to the next level? Or is it just play whatever you like?
Personally, I think the key method would work but then again I'm not sure :/
so if i make an epic level can i then join your crew?
I'm thinking of the key method, personally. Then there will be a key level where you get keys for minigames that you unlock by getting the stickers- I guess it can be cheated on by playing with someone who has the stickers and getting them that way, but >_>
Well... to be honest, i'm not too sure it would be that easy, and I'm not too sure if I'm lookijng for people right now- I'm just not sure D:
I haven't seen people use the key method before, but with such a huge project like this one, I guess it's a good idea.
as much as i'd love to agree with this...someone on these forums taught me that something like this seems like a chore for the player to follow...
in a way i have to agree because it sort of forces players to play the levels in order to obtain the next key...which isn't so bad...but to be honest sometimes it's okay to let them play the final level by accident...and then they wonder "wow what a great level and this is the last one? i better look for the rest of them to check them out"
not saying the key method is bad...but i think it'll reduce plays by a lot since most of the LBP community probably don't want to spend most of their time trying to get keys
just my 2 cents in it...nobody mad? hope not
Oh, we're mad... :grr:
I'm kinda dead set on the "Game" aspect of it, so it would take an iron will to convince me overwise.
I suppose it depends on who this is for. Is it an advertisement for LBPC? Is it just FOR LBPCers? I guess it depends- I have no answer, really. But yeah, I know we'll get less plays- still, I was thinking of sending the trailer to Media Molecule whenever the trailer is done (want to finish a few more levels first) so that may get outside interest... I don't know, I just don't know :p
I think first priority should be for LBPC members, and if anyone else happens to stumble across a level that would be that.
Oh and let us not forget the word of mouth, that could help elevate plays and I'm sure a lot of members here would be willing to tell others about this wonderful series.
I think the problem with that is that word of mouth tends to invite LBP friends to LBPC ;)
@shadowcrazy, are you talking about me? lol
@rock I think the real issue is whether you want these levels to have a shot at cool pages or not. Cause if all of them but level 1 are locked, its going to be very hard to get the plays you need to bump them up. I'm sure LBPC will rate and heart rather well, but i doubt that will be enough to bump them up without letting the public play all the levels. More levels available for play = more levels the public can get hooked on.
But on the other hand, the locking is nice, as it creates a feeling like the original story mode, where you're going through LBPC and each level is a joy because you unlock another to play, until you reach the final level, play all the minigames into oblivion, and wish you could go back a day and replay them all over again ;p
Well, judging by the type of people that go around playing levels these days, NO. They will probably play the last level and, without understanding the story at all, say; "What the heck? That was so stupid it made no sense 1 star!!!"
Personally, I'd say go for the key method. If they don't make it to cool pages, who cares? The cool pages rarely ever shows good levels anymore 0.0 In fact, I barely even look into the cool pages anymore. The levels will be played A LOT by the LBPC community (especially me xD) and so I don't see the point of leaving them all unlocked.
now this is where i need to stop you because there ARE good levels that make it to cool pages...just because H4H and anti-H4H levels plague LBP doesn't mean good levels won't make it to cool pages...i still browse cool pages and it brings a smile to my face whenever i see titles like gevurah22's Mm Gundam and such being displayed there as they should.
just because YOU think that all levels in there are H4H and anti-H4H spamming levels doesn't mean you can't flip to page 2 or 3 and find a truly magnificent level...and seeing as you aren't browsing cool pages anymore that means one less person being enlightened by these great levels that work hard for the spot at cool pages and are now being underplayed.
H4H and anti-H4H will never stop because we want it to...as long as LBP has a trophy system nothing can stop it... :( so might as well sneak a peek at cool pages every now and then and "attempt" to look for something good like i have. you may be surprised at what you find
I think you misunderstood. I didn't say there were no good levels. I said it was rare for good ones to show up. I understand that now Gevurah22 has his level there and I know it's great but the ratio between Good:Bad levels there is, well, you know. I simply implied that there are too many of the same levels out there (bomb survival, free stuff, H4H, etc) and there are too few of regular levels. Don't go saying "But there are so many!" Ugh, I guess what I'm trying to say is, making it onto the cool pages and getting many plays isn't what it's all about. Levels that get great feedback and put smiles on faces are important so whether or not the LBPC levels get onto cool pages doesn't seem to matter. Remember though, this is all my opinion! :)
Anywho.... :p
... Please keep discussions of Cool Pages out of this topic.
.....i thought it was pretty relevant to what we are doing here....maybe idk
why not the semi key method? so all the minigames are locked, but the main story bit isnt locked but with keys none the less!
Because thats really almost like the no key method :p The minigames should be able to stand fairly well on their own- they're lbpc related, but not strictly connected to the plotline. The main story does have continuity, so those are really the levels that would be affected by a lock/no lock decision.
This project sounds like it's going to be amazing. Can't wait to see it! And yeah, I'd go with the key method, especially if it's all meant to be played in progression.
I'd love to be a level tester. I like making suggestions on levels. This sounds really lame.
"If I had a dollar for every brain you didn't have, I'd have one dollar." Squidward Tentacles
I'm afraid I don't understand. Are you saying the project is lame, or...?
Also, We're not looking for level testers. I pretty much just come down to a glorified level tester in a way, plus we've got the rest of the team, so we don't need many right now :p.
Haha, yeah. However, there will need to be some concessions- going with the no key method will draw more people in, but key method would suit the LBPC mindset more, methinks.
Yep. Pretty much. So... wait, why am I responding to this? Just so you don't feel left out? D:
True. :kz:
Spot on. :kz:
Just A question, how far along is this project? It sounds great.
Can I be a Tree?
I thought progress was mentioned earlier in this thread.
Eh, could be my imagination.
Um... any particular reason you should be a tree? O-o
Also... One VERY important thing...
Please stop asking to be in the Game, I can't promise anything, it's hard enough to fit in everyone who actually is necessary :(
... speaking of which... I may need more people ;o. Or not... I don't know. :kz:
