Aha... no harm, no foul.
Just though I'd ask. I've got an entire, working Boss Fight that doesn't fit the theme of any of my levels taking up space on my moon. I thought I could palm it off to you guys. Thanks for the heads up on this new contest though. I'll wait until it's posted before I decide what to do with this bot.

Ok... level 1 redux is almost done... Lady and Rick should be sending it for beta testing soon, and posting some pictures here. Joey is almost done level 5 too, although he's adding a bunch of new stuff to that level... Then they will all work on level 9 together ;o. Hopefully that'll make that go by super fast XD
As for the contest, I'm still planning that, hoping for it to be open soon... As soon as CC and I work out the kinks. You guys just better participate :p
... which reminds me, do you guys think there should be set "themes" related to social groups, or just to make any random room even if it isn't directly related to LBPC? Hm...

since this is LBPC the game, it would make sense that the rooms would have at least something to do with LBPC. Maybe having the rooms be based on a set list of rooms is a little too specific for everyone. Hell, outside of the fanclubs, the only group I knew much about was the one that I'm in charge of. I spoke to you before about opening it up to have the rooms be based upon just about anything lbpc. A forum, a thread, a user, the frequent forum downtime... (10 points to someone who actually makes a downtime room where you just get stuck for 5 hours)
The other big problem that I see with involved contests is that people are always "too busy." The more established members of the forum usually have a few of their own mega projects in the works (why do I never see these materialize?). Also, I know a good portion of the people here have FAMILIES! and JOBS!. I've personally never heard of these mysterious, bizarre, and utterly confounding concepts, but as someone who's tried to ensnare people in my Survivor trap, these excuses will pop up so much that I'd be surprised if you don't already know the handful of people who might actually submit something to this.
Just thought of something! Isn't weird how those reasons always pop up, but you never hear that people just aren't in the mood to do something? IMHO, if Modern Warfare 2 needs your attention at the moment, be honest about it!
Suggestions....
First, talk to the small handful that you know might be able to contribute something. Then talk to them again. Then remind them yet again. Persistence pays.
You said that you're already talking to ConfusedCartman about getting a contest off the ground. Since XP has "disappeared', things get a bit tricky... I know CC might be willing to hand out forum perks for something of this magnitude, so ask him about that. If you've got the ability to offer up cheap DLC, that always seems to get people's attention. If you know anyone good w/ photoshop or whatever, a custom sig seems like something else worthwhile.
Ask everyone who comes to this thread to check out the contest. Ask them to ask everyone they know on the forum to check it out.
New forum members are good potentials as well. Stalk the Introduce Yourself forum. Welcome them and send them a PM telling them to get with the contest.

Mrs. SB will still be in the game, she did a terriffic job with the levels she worked on, so credit is due at very least. But we're not removing her from her role in the game. LBPCTG covers characters from the past and present of LBPC, so just because she left doesn't mean she's not in it anymore. It would be hard to make a game about LBPC without including her IMO.
well glad to see MRS.SB is still going to be in the game...still wanna know who else is going to be in it...since apparently present people are included aswell im kinda hoping for some people i have in mind...*cough*me*cough* anyways yeah ill just leave you guys to work at this and i guess ill just wait and see who ends up in the game when its done

I have to say Rock, you're doing a far better than I ever could. I suppose it becomes easier with such a great team to work with. I'm very excited to see this soon.
From what I've seen Level One is really really cool. :) Really impressive stuff in there! The rest of the levels I have seen were really cool as well!

At any rate... yep, I sent CC a pm two days ago, and he hasn't been on much recently, so no reply yet. Ah well. I would like the idea of themes related to LBPC- however, should said themes be given in a list, or should people be able to make a room about anything? And for rooms belonging to same theme, should they have some standard theming people should use, or is that too stifling for creativity?

Choosing one or the other, you'll end up with a little trouble either way... Either you limit the what the players can do, and potentially their creativity, or you leave it wide open and risk people not being able to figure something out on their own.
A simple idea might be to put up a list of potential ideas and let everyone do what they want anyway...
As for what to do with 2 rooms on the same topic... Everyone sees things differently. Everyone has had different experiences w/ the different aspects of this site. I say let anything go, so long as you don't really need to stretch your imagination too much to see what theme the creator was going for.

Anymore news on a release date for this here? It's gradually moving further back. In September you estimated by December. In December you estimated by March.

In other news, I discussed the contest with CC, it's in the final stages of planning methinks. I'm thinking that each submission should have something to do with LBPC, but I'll leave it up to the creators to decide how so.
Also, Burnvictim's PS3 is back, so unless it messes up again, he can finally get back to work. :D

I managed to get level 2 back from Spooky since I didn't copy it before he deleted it originally, but I don't have the Watchmen or Verabee sticker packs, so I can't edit it... heheheh, oh great ;-; There's still some stuff I'd want to change too. XD that's just fantastic.

Rock, Any chance you'd be able to tell us more about what the level with all the created rooms will be like in the end? Sort of... what will be tying all of the rooms together? Depending on what you're aiming for and what you're willing to tell us, potential players might be able to find some direction with what you tell us.
Well, each room has four checkpoint/sponge teleporters, and links you to another teleporter in another room. The goal will be to find your way to the end of the level, while obtaining as high a score as possible (as teleport = dying, you lsoe points each time you teleport, so will need to teleport wisely). Ideally, people will make maps to figure out the best way through the maze.
Is that what you mean or no?
The contest should be up whenever CC gets online again... maybe I should let a few people get a headstart beforehand, to give me an idea on how to best proceed with everyone else's rooms... hm :/

If there are any icy or arctic themed levels in this then I fit in perfectly as my penguin or snowman sackboy avatar. I'm not saying that I should be added to the game as I haven't contributed AT ALL but it would be nice if I was.:p

Rick and Lady are doing finishing touches on level 1
I fixed the bugs that were discovered with my minigame during my absence, and started working on 13... may have to start over due to a change in plan.
Joey opened level 5 up to testing
...I think thats it for "updates". Also, level 3 is a bit icy... we'll see :p
