This is an arcade experience influenced by Asteroids! and Tempest, and is probably unlike anything you've played in LittleBigPlanet. It has a decent length and continuously changing challenges, plus a classic 3-life design.

whether im good at it or not, im the kind of guy whos obsessive at points,

for example.... i wasted over a week of my life getting the highest score on Little Dead Space 2

i made it.... untill i realised 4 other people had the max score, giving me 5th place....

EPIC!... fail..!

Trust me its hard, and its not called Vertigo for no reason either. Keeping track of everything that is going on is a challenge, but one you won't be able to stop attempting till you've mastered it. The best thing is you get a little further and a little better with each play, its perfectly balanced.

I won't be entering the contest, I've had loads of plays (even though I still suck at it). This contest will be huge once everyone finds out how addictive it is.

Should be very competitive unless ThommyTheThird enters :p

Did some visual updates and I'm ready for the launch in the morning! Whew.... this was was HARD to get out the door!

Sounds cool, I'm in! I don't have school Friday-Monday so I have a lot of time on my hands ;) .

I'm hopeless at the high score competitions but I'm looking forward to playing this. Always nice to see new work from a great creator.

Count me in, too! I'm probably going to be really bad at it, though I'm old enough to remember the wire-frame Tempest arcade machine. CLASSIC! :)

Yeah, I love that old stuff... the games didn't last long, but playing them was like popping potato chips - and you would get a bit further each time and WANT to see what would come next.

That's my whole goal here - I filled my object, emitter, and creature brains thermo to the absolute hilt adding different stages that would change the gaming strategy throughout, and make the gamer wonder what's coming next. The simple but eclectic visuals are definately inspired of Tempest 2000, which took the wire frames and added really interesting lighting.

Also, just like a classic arcade game - there are 3 lives and you get to cross the finish line every time, so even if you don't get through the whole thing it's possible to rack up a decent score.

(on the other hand.... maybe when I open it tomorrow I'll get the reaction "You're kidding, right? My child can do better than that!") :D

OK, UPDATE ON THE CONTEST.... A BIT AGO WEX (mr. hopeless at these things) BLEW THE ROOF OFF AND OFFICIALLY GOT THE FIRST 10,000+ SCORE WITH 13,866.

Right now its #1 Wexfordian, #2 Slasher1973, #3 Y2Josh23!!!

Now don't get frustrated everyone... it is easily possible to get 20,000+ on this level.

Awweee.... the camera isn't THAT angled - just a tad.

So... right now we have Loius #1 and Wex #2...

It's possible to get around 30k on this level, so there's still plenty of room for improvement!

I really don't think its possible to get 20k on this level lol. Sure the points are out there... but collecting them is a whole different matter..... what i need is a second player to fetch the points for me lol.

Is the camera centered on not-the-center-of-the-game-area then? 'Cause it looks like I can see the thick rubber on the right side and a sudden cut-off on the left

I dunno.

I keep getting pulverized by a random fast electric blob after the first two trianglers, and it always comes from the one part of the game area I can't see :P

The "Vertigo" effect is that the camera itself keeps moving around. Thats the vertigo affect that drives the game. The camera angle is only slightly dropped down and to the left a little, which actually gives a much bigger area to view the screen.

They key is to stay in the center and take quick trips out of the center when necessary. I've timed every single obstacle that flies out from the sides to have reason and not be cheap (I spent about 20 some hours carefully timing everything).... I know... couch potato.

By the way, Burnvictim.... I don't save my own score (not fair), but I've actually pulled 32,000 in this game by myself. I don't want to give anything away to ones that have not made it to the end.... but the last "unlethal" section is FANTASTIC for picking up tons and tons of combos.

Oh, i know, the last section is amazing. I just keep getting conflicted between "grab points, or kill things?" D:

and wow, you're blowin our scores away D: Time to try again >:D

EDIT: 19657... and i had 20k before i died the final time :P Point withdrawn. And movin up to number 1 :P
