More Info On Extra Layer Glitch: 132 Layers! Steps to Place Objects in Extra Layers!
A couple of updates on bakscratch's extra layer glitch:
First of all, EXO_NINJA_VX has created 132 extra layers from back to front! It goes so far you can't see the end. Truly awesome. Thi766 participated in making it. Be sure to check out EXO_NINJA's level on the additional layers.
Second, I got a chance to talk to thi766 himself today and he explained the steps to place objects in the background and foreground! This can only be done using emitters. This can't be chained either.
1) Place an extra layer object.
2) Place the object you want to emit on the plane. I don't think it has to be touching the plane, just be in the same space.
3) Capture everything.
4) Place an emitter on the 1st or 3rd thin layer, depending on if you're emitting an object in the foreground or background. 3rd farthest layer for bg, 1st nearest layer for fg. Set it to infinite lifetime.
5) Emit your captured object and plane.
6) Pause time before it emits, and move the emitter to the opposite farthest layer. The object will now emit in an extra layer.
There you have it! Works too, I tried it. But I noticed once for some reason I captured an object with moving parts, and when I emitted it it mysteriously broke and froze the game. That was emitting from the 10th thin forelayer after moving the emitter back in "real" space I believe. So be careful.
