I just saw this news post, it looks nice. Doesn't seem as great now that it's here.
Checkpoints being activated by switches will be awesome as well...Teleporters will be much easier to make I think.
With the new ability to backup your game data save as a save data save, how would that work? What's the purpose of moving saves to game data? Flexibility/robustness? And the expanded profile size won't restrict large game data saves from being exported as a save data save?
Much more space for one thing in the Game Data folder. The level backups and profile backups go to another place actually.. At least in the Beta it was going to a separate Save Data folder with all iterations of each backup as a separate file in that folder. A freaky long list as I backed up often while working on levels. I think they are limited to how large of a file can be stored in the Save Data folder where the Game Data folder is much much more.
Flat out.. there just is a ton more room. I don't recall anyone ever filling their profile and our current LBP profile was rolled in there so it wasn't like a blank slate. I had tons of objects in my popup as well as levels on my moon. You literally can go nuts. :D
With the ability to back-up levels, I can finally delete all those locked levels off of my profile. :)
Man, came a bit late, as some of my workshop levels were corrupted the other day, but that was my bad. In any case, better late than ever.... and heck, very very awesome indeed.

I had quite some catch-up to play before posting. I'm glad everyone is excited about OC Create and the Checkpoints/Racegates, but I'm loving the profile backup. I don't have to delete all the level from my moon anymore! Yippee!!
About OC create, it doesn't seem like it'd be fun, but once you get seriously into a level with someone else, it almost seems more rewarding to get something finished. You do have to play with copyable levels and sending keys to make sure that people can work on it when the host is unavailable, but it seems to work out fine.

yes, yes they can, i assume it would just be like create mode, with a bit more lag and a online player....
One big problem I can forsee with online create is the number of PSN messages we'll get saying "Add me as a friend and lets make a level together!!!", or "I need help with my level, come and build it for me and I'll mention in the description that you helped!!". I get enough of those from random people just asking to play levels together. :(
Yep. And you can freely edit those objects as much as you want. :)
This does however mean you have to be careful. You could make an awesome object and someone could pop in the level, copy it and steal it. There's nothing you can do to stop them either. So just make sure you pay attention to who you're inviting to see your stuff, and don't let in anyone you might not trust.
Nuclearfish's words of warning should be heeded by everyone. I imagine we are going to see a LOT of people getting burned by this in the coming weeks. Online create will make it easier to rip other people off than ever before. Do be careful who you are creating with.
I'm just hoping the little things from the beta make it over. Mag Switches not screwwing up every single time you move them and things like that were my favourite features...

seriously, without the need to destroy checkpoints it'll be so much more....simple to do....
