Paintenator type weapons...Now has Photos

I haven't really seen anybody try to build this, except for incinerator22's giant paint gun/laucher, if you don't know what im talking about i will explain. So far to date, the only mobile paint gun is the paintenator, any other attempts to make a mobile type weapon have seen either to be ridiculously out of proportion, and very bad. so incinerator22 built a gun that fits around you sackboys hips and has a grab to shoot the gun, it goes wherever you do and you can shoot it at will. anyhoo i have build a similar type setup, where 2 sponges are attached to a metal strip at the back a gun template on the front. something like this:

The brown is the metal and the gun fits over the whole setup, BTW: the metal is a thin layer as well as the gun template while the grabs are thick.

Again, the grey squares are grabs, the metal is hidden behind sackboy and the gun again fits over the whole setup.

i will upload some actual photos early this week. So far i have made: AK-47, M16, AUG H-BAR, and Dragnov sniper.

Any suggestions for further guns??

ah nice, i made a really nice paintonator replica that shoots fire paint balls, never thought to trap sackboy in to move around without firing a shot first, should put the gun on a wobble bolt so that when you grab the back piece it flips and shoots backward

Wohoo! I was mentioned! And those pictures are hilarious (In a good way). Yes, I love these little things. They're genius. Also, is there a specific reason there are two grabs and not one?

I think he attached it directly to sackboy using a wobble bolt... or am I wrong?

@ incinerator22, Because that way it fits on your shoulders, although it doesn't necessarily need to be sponge, but it offers a few advantages: if the gun is rapid fire, then you mush hold the grab to shoot, however to get into the gun, the best way is to grab the back and jump to the right, however you don't want the gun firing during this. so one of the grabs can shoot, and the other just be a grab to help get in and has no other function. also i didn't mention this in the original thread, but you can move around freely and even jump with the gun if your careful.

The one you saw had a wobble bolt so I could shoot at you from a jetpack lol...

Cool, i think i might add a function (for only the sniper rifles) where to hold the sponge to aim the gun up and down, and tap to shoot. For obvious reasons this would only work on semi auto weapons.

For ease of use you could consider attatching this to a setup like that of jump button's torch.

If you ever put this in a level I think you should put them in little dissolve setups that could activate when sackboy walks under them, so the gun falls on his shoulders and locks into place. And if you used the rectangular sensor switch zone trick (by making an AND switch triggered by two diagonal magnetic key switches), you could program them to dissapear after falling off. Then you could just go and be set up for a new one from the gun spawning machine. That'd be very cool and low-thermo and convenient I think.

On my other profile i had made a similar setup, it spawns one on your shoulders, and if you press the grab to spawn another, it deletes the old one. still it could be improved.

Some suggestions for guns you might like: M60 Maching Gun, AA-12 Automatic Shotgun, Armbrust Grenade Launcher, M61 Vulcan Gatling Gun (Not a handheld weapon but still wicked cool :p)

you could use an on-release switch to fire the gun allowing 'hold' to aim the gun! maybe double tap could toggle firing left or right...
Using that glitched material that only sackboy can pass through but acts like any normal material to other objects, you could hav a bar attached to the backboard allowing the gun to pivot at the centre point too.

i have considered this, but i don't want the logic to get too hefty. also if you're on a slope, the gun levels the the slope, allowing for aiming up or down.

Yes, that's what's so awesome. Sackboy is engineered so that you can fit things like a gun around him with proper tweaking.

That's not what originally was in mind but that's a brilliant idea XD. Perhaps when you spawn, a weapon emits and shoots at you to go in place on your sackboy.
