The guys over at Harmonix just announced Rock Band 3
"[Harmonix is developing Rock Band 3 for worldwide release this holiday season! The game, which will be published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts, will innovate and revolutionize the music genre once again, just as Harmonix did with the original Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and The Beatles: Rock Band. Sweeeeeet! Can't wait for it to possibly come out. It looks intriguing, but I don't know why they would make another one. Rock Band 2 is like the best out there, and I think they should just stick with DLC music and maybe some expansion packs to RB and RB2.
I know George Harrisons son was working on new instruments a while ago they said would revolutionise the genre. I'm looking forward to it, love Rock Band 2. But I'm not looking forward to buying more plastic instruments if we need to. If thats the case I'll stick to RB2
I feel the same way. I've blown hundreds of dollars on fake instruments and I really don't feel the need to purchase more. If just the guitars are different, I wouldn't mind, but if everything is different, I'll pass.Quote:

The Guitar Hero franchise has gone WAY overboard with cheap gmmicks like free virtual rockstars like Santana and Kurt Cobain in Guitar Hero 5. And they try to make new instruments like a bigger and crappier drumset than the RB one, or the DJ Hero controller. But RB is a more polished experience, with amazing weekly DLC song setlists and top-notch game desgins. I like how they spend a while on making one game and having it sale up the gaming charts instead of making new games ALL THE TIME.Quote:
