I can not tell you, how many times I have glued every object to a wall, and then was forced to delete it. Would it be hard to make it so that you have to specify the multiple items to be glued with your cursor. It seems simple enough to me.

I couldn't agree more :-) I'm not sure if you have LBP PS3, but on that you can specify which object to glue to by pressing the object you are gluing into the object you want it glued to. The object you are going to glue to changes color so that you can tel what will happen.
You wish but, would it happen?
I don't think it would be that hard to implement into the game on what the PS3 version does (highlight the ones you are going to glue to), but would it be hard to make sure that you don't delete the wall and we aren't talking about well why don't you just hit the rewind button... Chances are that you are already pretty far into the level.
This is one of the worst things with LBP PSP.. This glue problem keeps me away from making more levels.. :/ It's so annoying.
Ever been in the situation when if you glue an object to another, then want to detach it, and it will only let you delete it? There is a sort-of way around it. If you select the object thats it's glued to it will let you detached it. Unfortunately it will also detach from any other objects and probably any gadgets attached to it too :grr:
I avoid gluing in this game.
Yeah I generally only glue dynamics and prefabs that I'll be copying a lot
The first level I ever made (well, tried to anyway) fell to pieces because I glued all of my static objects together. Walls, ceilings, basically my entire building structure was completely glued together. This caused a lot of problems down the road, and eventually resulted in the defabrication of my level. From that point on, I remembered you don't need to glue them; they're static objects for a reason. They don't move to begin with. So now I only ever glue materials together if collectively they make up an object.
improved gluing would be a BIG improvement on cambridges behalf!i hate having to redo something that messed up while gluing it to something! the level i was making yesterday was getting screwed up because of the gluing, it made me sooooo mad! so i had to restart some things. :(
cambridge give us some good gluing improvements to us!
Gluing has been (and still is) a problem even on the PS3 version. I learned some very harsh lessons with my first PS3 level, and ever since I learned to keep gluing to a minimum.
The static/dynamic option for materials on the PSP really is an excellent addition and means that a lot less gluing overall is required. Honestly, there is very little you should need to glue in a level. I generally only glue things that cannot be made static, like point bubbles and checkpoints.
If I have a complex arrangement of materials I need to move elsewhere in a level, I'll usually glue them together to preserve their relative positions... obviously I could just drag select them, but then they all get knackered if you 'bump' into another material... and undo usually wont fix this.
Hey i am new to LBPcentral and uhh yeah iv'e had loads of gluing problems :( i hope they fix it
I don't have that many gluing problems.
I only glue stuff when using glitches or stuff that needs to be glued.
A big problem I have with gluing is keeping switches in place without them getting stuck to 80 other things. Luckily I recently figured out how to fix this - a method I should have understood a lot earlier, considering Jonze uses it all the time - is to glue them to a thin piece of material outside of your level, then bring the attached switch in. Very helpful.
My method is usually just gluing them in before I put in a custom background (if the level has one)...
But that sounds like it would work really well, and I might have to try that :)
well, I also found a way around the "instead of detaching you have to delete" problem. I just turn the object I want to detach into dissolve material, hook up a switch, dissolve it, and there you go! problem solved!
When I glue stuff I often wish that would show bme all of the things that would get glued.
But I cant use rods as they break:(
