I'm sorry, I'm just so unhappy I can't even concentrate on the work I have to do. I should start on that, actually. See you guys later.
Aww darn! I don't know if I'll be getting into the beta or not then...
Keep it on topic...
It's hard between seasons!!! :frightened: CAN'T TAKE THE PRESSURE!!!

Last two post was off topic, guys.
Anyways, working on any sort of drawing at the moment ,Zim?
Yeah, I finished that Ahi picture last night but the computer was being SO UNBEARABLY STUPID I had to turn it off. I'm using the tiny computer right now, so I'll have to post it later. I really like how it turned out.
mini moderation doesn't really help none...especially when you're bumping the thread with "useless" posts aswell...in the end you're making off-topic posts to point out off topic posts instead of trying to steer the conversation away to something more on topic...so yeah if anything you should just stop pointing it out and just post something on topic. i already figured this out long ago which is why i barely do it anymore but i thought id let you and the rest of the thread know since publicly posting mini-mod posts doesn't really help as much as do the exact same thing you're trying to prevent.
so yeah this is my last "point out off topic post" post and i'll be getting back on topic now
so the new Ahi photo is done, and can't wait to see it...question is now what's next? as far as im concerned you're on your long deserved break so what happens now?
Yay, new artwork :p
I really can't wait :)
The whole Ahi project sound really interesting, I can't wait for it to be done (takes a while, I know)
Also...
Spoiler - Did someone mention off-topic?
Spoiler - Warning: This picture is big.
Took me a few hours, but I like it. Nope, the horns aren't part of the helmet.
Wow! I love the texture on the hair! :)
Yay nice!
Although the helmet is small and the head is big OH WHY DID YOU READ THIS??? *runs*
i like it
the only criticism i can say is that the helmet is a bit small...doesn't look like it'll fit on him...also arent you missing the goggles?
but i love it regardless and amazed you drew up a sackboy that doesnt even exist or can be created in LBP yet...so its very impressive
Yes, I am aware that his helmet is smaller than his head, but that's only because if I did it the right size, it would look colossal compared to himself, and he wouldn't be the focus of the picture anymore. And as for the goggles, or eyeholes if that's what you meant, that helmet is more of a show-off piece and not the real thing; if I would have added the eyeholes, it wouldn't have looked too well. And I also noticed that the shine on each of the gems aren't in the right place, but everybody makes mistakes and I accept that's it's not perfect.
Awesome work Zim! As always, though... :P
My only complaints are that the shading is too smooth for my likings and the lighting is everywhere, but other than that it's great! (I really like the design.)
Who's Ahi? (Mmmmm... Tuna)
Awesome drawing there! Keeps inspiring me to work harder on mine...:p
That looks epic, but one thing bothers me.... sackpeople with eyebrows ook funny :P
Heya Zim... Just wondering... Did you happen to get the idea of his left claw from the characters Vincent or Cloud from the series Final Fantasy? :p
Hm...No, why? I've never seen or heard of Vincent before (I'm not really into FF), and the only Cloud I know of with a gauntlet is the one from the first KH, of which I have an action figure sitting on my desk. There are a lot of gauntlets that look like that though.
Ahi's color scheme is basically brown and gold, so I thought I'd go with that for the gauntlet.
lol one question....WHY LEFT HANDED? lol sorry im just tired of all the coolest stuff like gauntlets and swords carried on the left hand lol....it bugs me for some reason lol
Actually, Ahi is right-handed. He uses his right hand for normal stuff, since you know...It's kind of difficult to pick up a champagne glass with big metal claws.
tru..and i think thats how other people see it when they make cool awesome things for the left side...which still bugs me lol
but yeah its still awesome...now to wonder how they'll appear when you try to recreate them in LBP2

Thats just a picture of a person cosplaying, but he does look like the real thing!
EDIT : Huzzah! Junior Sackperson!
Mere coincidence, then. I was considering doing it silver, but since he's a king and all, that wouldn't be very fitting. Plus, it would be like the Prince of Persia if it was silver.
he's a king? didn't really notice tbh (sorry) since he doesn't don a crown of any sort or a scepter...maybe make another drawing of him with his king outfit on so people can know the king has a battle ready mode :)
EDIT: maybe make your own crown...love the LBP crown (want one badly) but to be honest it doesn't really look like a "king" crown...idk how to explain it but it looks like a crown used for a champion or something liek that
Well, more of a prince at the moment. Although no designs are final at this point, do all kings really have to have crowns, furry robes, and scepters? Ahi's ancestors were descendants of dragons, and the horns are a symbol of the royal family. Of course, I've barely explained anything about the story yet, so of course no one would know that.
Okay, so...You all could tell Haze was the antagonist, right? Ahi is the protagonist, of course...I'll probably explain everything this weekend, when I have more time, or when I have most of it sorted out. Or, it could all be explained in the level - I mean game.
Also, I can't stop listening to this song.
yes PLEASE explain....because i thought haze was an anti-hero...but not evil...and i thought the king was just a king who would lend aid to the protagonist when in need...and no i dont mean the stereotype for the king (altho crowns and scepters in my last post did point to that...but the horns could be a sort of "crown") but i meant like how in dragon age the king had a special golden type of armor that let you know "hey biznitches im the king :D"
but yeah hope you explain this more...cuz im confused enough as it is
Ahhh Zim. I had a hunch it would be inFamous related. Althought I don't listen to their soundtracks, I do love inFamous itself, and cannot wait for the sequel. <--- inFamous talk deserves an off-topic for a short while. ;)
Okay, I'll explain some of it now. Let's start from the beginning...
Ahi and Haze were born into a royal family; they're brothers, a couple of months apart, Ahi being the youngest. The son/daughter of the current king or queen would become the next king/queen of the kingdom. (What exactly the kingdom is like will be explained some other time.) If there are two sons/daughters however, whichever child begins to grow golden horns the earliest, or at all, would be destined to become the next ruler of the kingdom; the gauntlet would be inherited from their parent, and this is what gives them power. A golden helmet for the new king would be forged by the most skilled blacksmiths in the area.
Both Ahi and Haze were good children, they were well-behaved and got along with each other like two peas in a pod. Ahi was the responsible one, calm in every situation and very polite. Haze was mischievous, but had a strong will and could do anything he set his mind to. He loved to tinker with things, take them apart to see how they worked, and build his own small contraptions. Both brothers were intelligent.
When they were very young, they were blissfully unaware they were competing to become the next king. Their father was a very good king, righteous and fair, and he knew how to handle every situation that befell him. He had one fatal flaw, though; while all kings are supposed to tell their children about the inheritance of the throne as early as possible, he put it off, fearing it would be too much for his two sons, that they would turn against each other, desperate to be the next king. He was over-protective of the the two, and was hesitant to break the ice. So he didn't.
Years passed, Haze and Ahi's father still refused to tell his sons. Both of them were twelve by this time, and their father had told them of the gauntlet and its importance, but not of the power it would give anyone who wore it. Their father was growing old, and if he didn't tell them about the inheritance soon, then no one ever would, and the council of the kingdom would take matters into their own hands (this usually meant trouble, which was why the family had always avoided them by any means necessary). A few months after Ahi's 15th birthday, the king passed away. The entire kingdom was devastated. The queen didn't say a word, staying locked up in her bedroom for days on end. Because of this event, no one seemed to notice that Ahi had begun to grow golden horns; not even Ahi himself.
About a week after the funeral, and a mere day before the council was going to visit, Haze found a chest in his father's room, hidden under his desk. Curious, he opened it. Inside the chest was a tattered piece of parchment and a variety of other knick-knacks and objects. Haze skimmed through the writing on the parchment, and discovered this was his father's will. The contents of the will had every piece of information about their ancestors and the process of choosing the next king, everything his father had not told him about. At the end of the will, Haze found this particular sentence;
"In the case that I pass on, and my two dearest sons are still unaware of the inheritance of the throne, I leave the gauntlet - and the kingdom - to Ahi, of which has shown signs of fairness, responsibility, and leadership. I know that he will be a fine leader one day."
Enraged, Haze tore up the piece of parchment, not wanting a single soul to know about it. Upon kicking the side of the chest in anger, he heard a metallic clunk from inside. Rummaging through the junk in that trunk (lol), he pulled out the royal gauntlet. Glancing around the room to see if anyone was watching, he slipped it on. Anyone not destined to wear the gauntlet would go mad from the power, not knowing how to handle it. And that's exactly what happened.
Haze was astonished by the the gauntlet, but he soon heard the sound of footsteps coming from the hallway. He hastily slammed the trunk shut and pushed it back under the desk. He was hungry for more power; slipping the gauntlet into his back pocket with a grim smirk. Ahi peeked through the door, just as Haze hurriedly stood up and rushed out of the room. As anyone would be, Ahi was suspicious.
The next day, Haze told his brother he was going for a walk. His real plan was to find a secrete location where he could figure out his plans to seize control of the throne, now that he had the fate of the kingdom in his back pocket. Haze bounded down the steps of the castle courtyard, Ahi at the doors behind him. As he hopped down the last step, he froze, hearing the clank of something metal hitting the pavement. The knights guarding the doors, the caretakers of the gardens, and his brother Ahi all gasped in shock as they saw the royal gauntlet fall right out of Haze's pocket; by the look on Haze's face, they all knew he was attempting to steal it. The guards' expressions of surprise soon turned into anger; matters like these were not taken lightly. Haze was surrounded by the castle's protectors in an instant, all with looks of questioning on their faces. That's when he ran for it, leaving everything behind; the castle, the gauntlet, and his brother.
6 years passed. Being old enough (21), Ahi became the successor to the throne, and he turned out to be as great of a king as his father. Haze had fled outside the kingdom, and within a year built a colossal watchtower on a distant hill; the kingdom's citizens looked upon that craggy hill as a dangerous place to venture out to. There was an immense, dark forest below the hill that was rumored to swallow any travelers who entered it. Not one villager went near it. In the watchtower Haze resided for those 5 years, watching what was happening in the kingdom from afar, growing angry with jealousy and envious of his brother's success. He plotted. Built contraptions and artificial intelligence in the hopes that one day he would steal back the gauntlet and gain control over the entire kingdom. During one of his many failed attempts, he was locked in a battle with his brother Ahi, and suffered a critical injury to the left half of his face, which is why he wears the eyepiece constructed by himself in order to see.
If the gauntlet ever left the hands of the one destined to wear it, they would be cursed, and if they didn't get the gauntlet back soon enough, the curse would be permanent. This was the result of an event that took place hundreds of years ago, a curse placed by a member of the family not unlike Haze. The gauntlet is the only force that can keep the family curse at bay. Ahi was completely unaware of the curse, and Haze used this to his advantage.
And that's where the climax of the level series picks up...Most of this story above is expressed in cutscenes, but you will be able to play parts of Ahi's earlier life in the castle. Haze has successfully stolen the gauntlet (how that happened will be explained in the level series), and Ahi has been cursed into that robot form. Haze is then in charge of the entire kingdom, and it becomes all wastle-landish and bad and stuff. You have to travel allll the way to that tower to face off with Haze so you can get the kingdom back and stuff. Apologies for the poor writing, it's very late and I spent like two hours on it.
Remember I'm still sorting out the story and everything, so none of this is concrete.
