It would be unsatisfactory if you couldn't pick you instrument.
This thread has actually made me quite curious as to how this would work, and really made me think, I applaud you lol
After i beat story mode on LBP2 the first thing im gunna do is create music for my levels
I didn't hear of a music creator?
Only about recording sound.
warlord, there is a MAJOR rumor about an official music creator.
Yeah, didn't the magazine interview (or some other interview) specifically mention music making, but not really mention how this would happen? Huh...

It's not a rumor if it comes from the source.Quote:

Even if there is none. You could make a line of sounds and mag switches and store it in a microchip. Just send your friends your music microchips!
i really hope we get more instruments than just the piano and some drums
I actually hope it's a souped up Mario Paint.
Or a souped up Warioware D.I.Y. RecordMakerMatic. :P
I wonder how simple it is to do anything a bit advanced in it (I wouldnt be able to use it anyway :D). Such as blending notes (I have NO idea of the official terms :D), prolonging them, etc etc... some genres would be utterly unpossible to do... such as DnB as Noisia makes it... :D (Some call it dubstep... i dont care :D)
Ooh, :D -s-a-plenty! I'll open my own : D Faic Retail :D
(I counted 8 counting this and the one in the signature :D)
How today music work :> it's bunch of switches as a head and keys are music data, such such tool is called sequencer, most known format that use sequencing is MIDI, and you ever play with polyphony ringtones you should known them very well :) you pick instruments each channel, and as you know LBP1 already have bunch of those, you pick note resolution, bigger note resolution = more complex music score, pick tempo and place notes with specific values on the channel... this is what we already have in LBP1 with switches, big improvement except special UI for it for that would be real deal piano instrument simples, i mean instead of using single points you placing press and release of the key + since LBP2 getting keyboard support recording notes from keyboard would be a blast :p
You do know that all electronic music is built entirely inside sequencers, yeah? Even a relatively simple one like FL Studio can be used to create dnb (and has been, effectively). Admittedly, most guys in studios are using things like Cubase and ProTools which are incredibly detailed and complex, but still, it can be done.
