Mandatory Update 3.42 was recently released.
Doesn't seem to be for anything else than to kill the PSJailbreak, PSGroove, and those hacking things tho.

Yep even the US playstation blog claims it's for security reasons.
Looks like Sony is really secure... I just still wish they didn't disable other OS :(
