Beta Frustration.

Welcome, Come one, Come all.
I just wanna start a discussion thread on the people chosen for Beta.
I know I shouldn't hate on the Judgement on SCE and Mm and what else that are giving out those codes, but I kinda find it ridiculous that they're looking for a certain "mix" of contributors, DLC owners and PS+ members for the NA.
The selection just feels random. I've got friends barely owning any DLC's, no PS+ and getting in. I've got a friend whos had like 10 plays on their levels and all that person ever really does is buy Costumes. The Probable only Level pack i've that person own was The "Pirates" pack.

...Gosh I feel like such a whiner...

Now here comes the part where I talk about myself going on with the "I have this and that and this and that and why don't I get it?"

I own like a humongous majority of DLCs. I owned and played this game since it's release. Some of my friends only started playing in July Believe it or not.

Seeing my Friends list while i'm in my Pod empty while everyones having a blast at LBP2 Beta with positive profile comments is such a Turn-off from me wanting to play the original. It gives me the paranoia of someone looking at me alone in an empty level sending me messages at why I didn't get in the Beta or Why i'm not in the Beta yet. Some of my friends are actually mad at Mm for not sending me a code. But are they really? No. Dude They're having a blast.

Now am I alone here?

I know whenever a non-Beta participant Sees someone in it. They get their stomachs to drop and they literally get turned-off from playing LBP altogether. Is this because i'm Different in a way?

Is it because i'm...Canadian?

Well no. There are Canadian Beta participants.

I feel even worse having one of the seven deadly sins pressing on my back, which is envy itself.

Well time to party on LBP1... Alone. While everyones on 2..

I feel like that kid whos inside doing homework on a sunny day while everyones outside but him.

I'm just one of those whiners right?

It's just a beta test, man. There will be people left out who have put in their dues but that's the way the world works. We can all play in January, myself included.

Same as you. I have 99% of all the PDLC (I've bought it all except 2 things and the 4th marvel costumes) am a PS+ for a about 5 weeks now. I don't think I am better or deserve it more than anyone who got in of course but I think its a bit strange that I didn't (yet) since I have all the things they chose it for and some people only have some of the things. Me hopes nobody is offended by that.

Still, people can record more levels to youtube for you to watch.

They are angry you didn't get in cause they can't play with you! I'm not being patronizing either, they really do want to play LBP2 with you.

I mean, I'm avoiding trying to rage anywhere to avoid making myself look like a jerk... But it's pretty depressing. Makes me less enthusiastic about the whole thing.

Yes! So i'm not the only one who finds it strangely strange not getting codes. I'm so confuzzled why they would do a "mix" and not a selection. The word mix even feels like they put a bunch of PSNs on a dart board, Blindfolded and started throwing darts.

Hopefully when more participants are added. We who have posted here, Get a code. I hope for that to happen.

yup I understand. :P The whole concept of seeing them have Beta while you don't is a turn-off and it removes us from wanting to play LittlebigPlanet.

I have published various, but virtually unplayed, levels (back when I tried my extremely untrained hand at object creation). And well, I don't have PS+, but I did vote for MM over Harmonix in the 'Best Developer' competition :p

Some people made the cut other's didn't. And if it really was at random well it's too bad, you couldn't get in :\ Don't worry about it you still have time and more waves are on their way..and if you don't get into those....well what can I say? :p

Y'know what's worse?

Being there on day ONE for the water beta, waiting weeks and not getting anything. Making sure my email was legit and everything. Seeing nothing but the scant few video leaks, wondering if my email was just lost.. then the whole water pack finally came to use in december.

I was hoping at least now I'd be able to help out. :/ I see all the beta vids now and I think to myself "well, that's nice, but I want to see what I could make with it."
I've aced everything.. spent hours helping out others to ace (I remember camping at entrances for 4x).. got most dlc that wasn't costumes (didn't care much for them).. goofed around a lot..

I don't know, I just feel like this beta should've been like the first LBP beta. Big. Really big. But orderly.
But this one just feels messy and overcautious. By doing a blind selection, it's leaving out the talented ones who aren't constant players/buyers. The casual tinkerers.

The people who played Lbp all the time got in,as it said on "The interveiw with Media Molecule". But im sorry to hear that.

CheezyWeapon just spoke my mind. So much that if I posted my thoughts now it'd would've been a double post! :p

Exactly, seems like most beta players are little kids

It's all in your head, really. I was so looking forward to the beta, played it for about 3 days, and never play it anymore.

It's not that I don't like it, well, I expected more, but I just don't go on it anymore.

One of the reasons may be that awfully long update...

I feel the same way. But there is an upside to it. Somewhere...
