((Alright, good dawn :) ))
((EDIT: Just a bit more))
GDN kept swimming, as fast as he could. Zim was counting on him, and he didn’t want to let her drown. But, the more he advanced, the farther the end seemed to be. GDN started to feel tired. B3, Zeta and Zim disappeared. He stopped swimming. A heavy voice told him:
You don’t know what you are getting into… Give up now, or you and your friends will suffer!
GDN was really tired. He was about to close his eyes. But something waked him up. He felt something shaking his body. Then he got back to reality. Zim was desperately shaking him, shouting bubbles. GDN quickly resumed swimming, with all his strength, while Zim closed her eyes and tried to keep holding her breath. The two reached the surface, gasping for air. B3 and Zeta were already there, waiting.
Zeta: Thank god, where were you?
Zim looked at GDN.
Zim: I thought you said that I could trust you…
GDN: I’m really sorry, Zim! I had a hallucination while I was swimming, I swear!
Zim: You almost drowned me…
GDN: Please, Zim, forgive me!
Zim got out of the water and looked at GDN. He looked really sorry for that.
((I have my electricity back, just so you know. If you want to take it away in parts for story purpouses, that's fine, but generally speaking I'm running at full charge. :) ))
((I'd post, but I have no idea what do next...Zeta? Blue? Mind taking this one?))
((Quick, B3, post before you get off! :boo: ))
((EDIT: B3 is gone.))

"WOOOHOO! that's the best thrill I've had in a while, so, how far is New Natal?
"I dunno, hour maybe"
"Natalie? will you survive for another hour?"
"Depends, is there an alternative?"
"Uhh, there is an airbase about 35 minutes from here."
"Works for me."
Mercuy drove the transport the distance along the highway to the airbase, while Frank ate his ice cream.
"Mercuy, make a right here, this is the entrance"
"k"
Mercuy turned into the airbase, to be greeted by gunfire.
"we might have forogt to tell them we were in a Sony transport!"
"Hurry up, turn you radio on before this thing blows!"
"YO, WE ARE MICROSOFT! DON'T SHOOT!"
"What's the password?"
"kinectimals"
"Alright, let them in."
Mercuy drove the truck into the lot, and got out of the vehicle, where he was greeted by Captain Kleeb, an old friend of his.
"Sorry for shooting at you, can't be too careful when Sony's got control of Old Natal... wait.. Mercuy? is that you?"
"Kleeb? dam, how long's it been, like 2 years?"
"Something like that."
"I didn't think you were in the airforce"
"I'm not, we had to fall back here after tanks devestated our unit."
Just then, Chief and Natalie jumped out of the back of the truck, and interrupted.
"You guys wanna stop your chitchat and help us out?
"Yeah, come this way, I'll lead you to the infirmary, get you some medigel and a new set of armour and you should be up and about in no time."
((Sorry guys for the big time I have been out of the thread, I had been busy the last days finishing a stupid final project that I still need to complete and submit this Friday, and a lot of other real life stuff, so freeze my character for a bit, or do whatever you feel with him (as long as he doesn't die or betray Sony) I will be busy until next week or probably this weekend, cya and greetings to all!))
((oh... I was going to fl- no. i'm not saying it.))
((You were gonna fl-what? I don't get it.))
((Ok, Mercuy posted, Ragnarok will be temporarily left behind and I'm listening to Worms Soundtrack. So I'm inspired to post.))
((WARNING: this one will be big!))
Jack went stumbling through the remote wilderness of Siberia, his hands clapsed to his head and his eyes shut from the pain. The businessman blindly plows over trees and smashes through rock, desperate to begone of this excruciating agony that was being inflicted from an unknown virus.
"GET OUT OF ME!!!" Jack screamed, dropping to his knees and rubbing his temples even harder.
Suddenly, a voice shot out:
"It's too late for that, Jackie-boy. I tried converting to that supersoldier that touched you earlier but he wasn't, suitable, for my tastes..."
"Who are you?" Jack mumbled, his body frozen in fear.
"Why, I'm YLOD," the sinister voice replied, "And I now control you. It's not that complicated, really: you called an armistance on that station long ago, I snuck in. You open the servers for public use, I utilize them. And when that Ragnarok chap haxxed into your satellite, well... gave me direct access... to you."
"No..." Jack murmured, shaking his head in disbelief, "This can't be... how could I-"
"Too late for questions now," YLOD coldly replied, "You're mine, and you'll do exactly what I say if you want to live; I might even leave you once busienss is done... if I feel like it."
"I can't... I won't!" Jack called back.
His refusal was met by a massive shock, coarsing through his veins and making him cringe in agony.
"Fine then," YLOD insisted, "If you won't help me... I'll just kill you now. Besides, I still got Horatio; he listens."
With those final words said, the YLOD virus began to take hold of Jack, his eyes turning a complete yellow and his veins pulsing with gold fluid. Jack went sprawling on the ground, fighting the pain and suffering greatly. His body began warping sporatically, appearing in various places around the wilderness, until finally it takes itself out of the area. Jack immediately went unconcious.
When he reappeared, Jack was laying unconcious at the steps of the Sony base.

"WATCH THE BIT!!"
"GET DOWN!!"
"GAAAAHHH!!!"
Chaos ensued as the rapidly decreasing group of officers desperately try fending off the disturbed Big Daddies, their firearms (though highly superior) proving no match for the brutes' oversized drills. Of course, this would usually bring some concern to Horatio... but he wasn't in the vacinity. He was already making his way towards his "prize", now just a few feet away. Now 10 feet... now 5...
"There it is," Horatio spoke, smiling sinisterly to himself, "I've been waiting 10 years to use this..."
Removing a floor tile, the governor pulls out a small, wooden chest, concealed by a 6-digit lock. Ignoring the lock and smashing his fist into the chest, Horatio feels around for his treasure, eventually grasping it in his hand. With a wily look in his eyes, he casually pulls out a dusty tumbdrive, with the name "Jack" engraved on it. Plugging it into himself, a rapid burst of energy flowed through him, his veins and eyes pulsing a vibrant green. Settling back to normal, Horatio looks at his hands, which start to pixellate a little bit. Seeing this, he tests out his new "powers" on a nearby vendor unit, automatically making the machine spew out its contents. Satisfied, he calmly walks away and back to where his men were... provided they were already wiped out, just as he had it planned.
A finely permed man, puffing on a cigar, walks up to Horatio and shakes his hand graciously, amongst the various Big Daddies dragging away the dead bodies.
"Leaving so soon, Mr. Governor?" the man queried Horatio, smiling at him in all respect.
"Nice to see you too," Horatio replied, also smiling, "Mr. Ryan."
((Gonna be inactive for a while))
((there you go))
Zim calms down and regains her breath.
Zim: Sorry for that, I’m too nervous…
The group then begins to walk towards a big stone door. It has two marks on it.
B3: Zim, look, that symbol!
Zim: What’s with it?
B3: It resembles you cane, doesn’t it?
Zim: Now that you mention it…
Zim sees a small hole next to the symbol. She picks her wooden cane up and inserts both ends in the hole. The cane falls down the opening and a noise indicates that it hit a surface.
Zim: Nice, I lost my cane.
Zeta: Not yet, there’s another one!
Zeta points at another symbol which resembles GDN’s dog tags.
GDN: What??? My dog tags are important to me!
Zim: I dropped my cane there!
GDN: Yeah, but it was a fake one!
B3: GDN, please! Don’t you want to see what’s in there?
GDN: Hmmpf… Fine…
GDN drops his dog tags into the opening. After doing that, the door opens, revealing a circular room. Half of the room is filled with vines and cracks on the rocks, while the other is filled with more polished, roman-styled decorations. GDN runs to the jungle half and finds a wooden crate there, like the one he saw before when fighting the zombies. He opens it and finds a weapon just like the one he used in the second Console War.
GDN: I can’t believe this… It is so intact… It looks like new!
GDN throws his AK-47 away and picks up the Commando. He analyzes it.
------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Zim headed to the other half of the room. There was a chest laying there. Zim carefully opens it and finds her old cane, the one she left at Rapture, as good as new. Zim picks it ups and swings it around.
Zim: Now that’s a treasure! I so missed this!
GDN and Zim reunite at the center of the room and show each other their new weapons.
B3: Ok, what’s happening there?
The two look at him.
B3: Tell me, how did you two knew that you were expected here?
GDN: We didn’t.
B3: What???
Zim: Yup, it’s pretty strange… It looked like they expected us to come…
Zeta: Anyway, why didn’t we get a special room like you two?
GDN: You expect us to know?
Zeta: Well…
An altar raises from the center of the room, raising Zim and GDN. From the very center of it comes out a stone pillar with nothing more that the console on it.
Zim: *gasp* GDN… Is the console…
GDN: I see it…
Zim: Do we pick it up? What if it is cursed?
GDN: Well, I’m going to risk it.
GDN slowly picks the console up and lifts it up.
GDN: It’s fine! I can touch it!
The others are relieved. But suddenly, an explosion blasts through the stone wall. Outside the building are Microsoft soldiers pointing their guns at them.
Soldier: DROP YOUR WEAPONS AND GIVE US THAT CONSOLE!!!
GDN: Damm it! How did they find us?
Soldier: We knew that you would be onto something special, so we sent a recon team after you!
Zim: Great…
Zeta: Any plans?
GDN: Zim?
Zim: I got it.
------------------------------------------
GDN puts the console on the ground and raises his hands.
GDN: Ok, guys, I think that you got us, we are going to… NOW!!!
Everyone jumps out of the way and takes cover by the wall. The soldiers begin to fire.
Zim: The console!
Zim rolls over the console and picks it up, and ends on the other side of the hole in the wall, with GDN.
GDN: Nice girl… Now what about we test our new weapons?
GDN peeks out and fires the Commando. But there’s something fishy about it. It keeps stable and accurate, even when firing at full speed. It also has a bottomless magazines, meaning that he doesn’t need to reload.
GDN: Zim! They’re weakened! Your turn!
Zim: Gotcha!
Zim runs towards the enemies and jumps, then swings her cane at them. Her cane emits electricity when it hits an enemy, shocking it.
Zim: What the?
More soldiers fire at Zim, and she blocks the bullets with her cane. GDN takes care of them.
GDN: Area clear!
B3: Now where we head to?
They look at the temple. Lots of MS soldiers are entering it.
GDN: Ragnarok’s busted…
B3: We’ll have to rescue him later, let’s go!
------------------------------------------
They eventually find a circular structure on the floor, similar to the one that teleported them before. They step on it.
Zeta: Ok, how do we make this work?
Zim hits the ground with her cane, making it emit sparks and teleport them.
------------------------------------------
They get back at the snowy mountains, on a structure similar to the one in the city, but covered in snow.
B3: I could’ve done that!
They run towards what looks like a town in the mountains. But, when they get closer, they see that it is a MS armory with a train station on it.
GDN: We could get some transport there… Let’s split up!
B3: Why?
GDN: Four people make more noise than two.
Zeta: Okay…
GDN: Zim, you come with me!
Zim: Alright, alright, I knew that you would pick me, you love me!
They split up and get into the base. GDN and Zim approach a garage where the jeeps are located.
GDN: Let’s just take one of these and…
Suddenly, a soldier comes from behind them, hitting Zim in the neck and making her fall unconscious. GDN tries to retaliate by holding his weapon before he could hit him with it, But another soldier comes and knocks him out.
------------------------------------------
They wake up in a cell.
Zim: Ouch… My head… Where are we?
GDN: They found us and locked us up. Damm!
Zim: Where are our weapons? And the console?
GDN: Sshh…
GDN takes a peek through the small window and sees the enemies loading stuff onto a train. He sees them giving a crate containing the console and their weapons to a soldier on the train.
Soldier: Put this in the safe, this cargo is really valuable!
GDN gets back to Zim.
GDN: Look, they are loading a train, and our stuff is in it!
Zim: Great, now we need to escape this cell!
They hear a fight outside. B3 and Zeta come inside the room.
B3: I can’t leave you two alone for a second…
GDN: Good to see you too, man!
B3 opens their cell.
Zeta: Quick! They will notice that you escaped! We must get the jeeps and get outta here!
GDN: You two go.
B3: What? And what about you?
GDN: We are getting on that train.
Zim: Our stuff is in there.
Zeta: Ok…
GDN: You two get out. We get in the train, grab our stuff and get out. We can meet somewhere later.
B3: Alright! See you, soldier!
They run to the garage and get inside the jeeps. Zim and GDN in one, Zeta and B3 in another. B3 drives away from the base while GDN drives towards the train. They attract a lot of attention, so the train goes off.
Zim: GDN, they’re escaping!
GDN: No, they’re not!
GDN drives next to the train. He asks Zim to take the wheel, then searches for a weapon to fire at them, but the soldiers took them away.
GDN: Great, this day just keeps getting better…
Zim: GDN, we are getting out of road!
GDN: Alright… Zim, we are going to have to jump!
Zim: What???
GDN jumps onto the train. He climbs on the empty wagon and calls Zim.
GDN: Come on, jump!
Zim: O-okay…
Zim jumps onto the train just before the road ended and the jeep was sent flying into a bunch of rocks, exploding.
GDN: There you go, Zim, just like in that game, isn’t it?
Some soldiers see them and begin to shoot. They take cover by some crates.
Zim: Great… No weapons, what do we do?
((Summary:
- GDN and Zim find the console, and also improved versions of their weapons;
- The MS forces find them, forcing them to get out without Ragnarok;
- They invade a MS armory in the mountains, but get their weapons and the console taken to a train;
- Zim and GDN get into the train by jumping on it from a jeep.))
"Y'know, you're lucky I'm familiar with this scenario."
Zim slips out from behind the crate and lowers herself down the side of the train, then tells GDN to duck. The soldiers are confused for a moment, then look over their shoulder. A high-hanging train signal hits the both of them head on, and they're sent flying off the locomotive. As Zim looks towards the front of the train, she sees another train signal up ahead. She climbs inside the train through an open window just as it speeds by.
That was close...too close.
There are soldiers patrolling the interior of the train car. Fortunately, she quietly approaches the two of them unnoticed, then grabs them both by the collar and tosses them into a small storage closet, breaking the lock and trapping them inside. She calls out to GDN.
"Coast is clear, I need your help with this door."
GDN pulls himself inside and approaches the rusted door leading to the next train car. The two of them push down on the heavy metal handle with all of their strength, and it slowly creaks open. Several soldiers begin to shoot wildly at GDN and Zim from inside. They both slip behind the train seats opposite to one another for cover. Zim ducks as a missile whizzes right over the seat, the soldier who fired it then reloading the RPG for another shot.
That was...another close one...
Zim looks over the side of the seat as GDN sees a submachine gun lying on the floor down the isle. He hurriedly picks it up and gets back behind his cover.
"Hey, what a stroke of luck, eh? This was just lying here!"
He fires at the three soldiers, taking out two of them. As he reloads, the RPG-toting soldier fires another missile, Zim dodging it just in time and moving to GDN's side. He fires another round at the remaining soldier and manages to take him out. GDN stands up and looks around for any other soldiers, but the train car is now empty.
"Well, let's keep moving. That cargo was taken to the front of the train."
They open the door to the third train car and GDN steps inside. Just as Zim is about to follow, the room lurches sideways. She regains her balance and jumps into the next train car. As GDN helps her to her feet, they see the previous car detach from the rest of the locomotive, tumbling sideways and going up in flames just a second later.
"GDN...I don't think all of us were supposed to survive..."
GDN looks confused.
"...What do you mean by that?"
"You were the one that picked up the console, and everything was fine - But in the scripture on the walls, it said the last one standing after all of the trials is the one destined to have it. In the last five minutes, I've just barely avoided death several times, and I don't think any of those were coincidences."
Mercuy waited outside the infirmary door, tossing a clip for his pistol in the air, when the door flew open, followed by Natalie in purple and yellow armour, with Chief tailing behind her.
"So, what do you think?"
"Nice, love the mix of colours."
"Heh, yeah I think it's alright too."
"Hey, you guys seen Frank?"
"He's in the comms room."
"No he's not."
Almost exactly on cue, Frank turns the corner and starts running down the hallway, with a radio in hand.
"GUYS! you gotta hear this!"
"What is it Frank?"
"seems like Jack was possesed or something, and he dissapeared, possesed or really mad."
"I don't think really mad causes people to dissapear."
"Well anyways, Elizabeth wants us to try and find out where he went"
"Elizabeth?"
"One of the heads of Microsoft"
"Right."
"Well, so anyone have any idea on where he could've gone?"
"I still have that tracker on that GDN, maybe he knows something about it."
"now that's taking initiative!"
Mercuy pulls out his tracker, but sees something odd.
"What the-"
He takes another look at it to see points going all over the map.
"odd, looks like they all go to different places, except 1, which leads to a little island in the Atlantic"
"Then that's all we got, lets grab a plane and go."
((:D))
((Sorry, can't end my story there after I read everything that happened!))
"Mercuy! He's on that train! follow it!"
"On it."
Mercuy swerves his plane in close just as he witnesses the train car burst into flames, and GDN and Zim standing right there.
"FRANK! THAT'S HIM! REMEMBER WE NEED HIM ALIVE, KILL OFF HIS PARTNER!..."
((I have one response to that post and this is it:
fgfds
I'm gonna need more time to figure this out a bit. I didn't think you would move to the whole "zomg we gots'ed the console!!!1!!one!" part so soon. Now I'm gonna need to think out where I go from here.
EDIT: Wait, wait, wait. No one has the console yet, right? It's still in Microsoft's possession since the Temple raid? If so, PLEASE PAUSE until tomorrow morning. I'm sorry, I can't post right now - 10:30 on the night before my end-of-course.))
((Nevermind, here's something.))
Blue looked steely as he drove on ahead. But suddenly, he whipped the Jeep around and headed back in the direction of the train. "Wha- what are you doing?!" Zeta screeched. "Are you trying to get us killed!?" Blue's face grew dark. "No," he said, "I'm trying to save someone's life. Time to slow our friends down," Blue said, launching a bolt at the train and breaking off one car from the train. Zeta looked shaken. "Blue...", she started, "it's not right. There's no guarantee that you can change the past, and even if you could, who knows what the consequences are? You change that one detail, and nothing we know today would even exist!" Blue's coldness faded for a second. Though the soldier was only 16, he seemed much, much older. He pulled the vehicle to a stop, from which they watched the train pass by. Blue said nothing for a few long minutes, then sighed. "You're right. Best to let go of the past. Besides, we have a mission to attend to. Let's get the Omega home." Blue smiled tiredly at his friend and turned the vehicle around once more.
