LBP2 Beta: The end is nigh!
Note this was posted my Tom_Molecule in the main forum about LBP2 beta.
As the year rolls to an end, January ticks around and LittleBigPlanet 2 looms ever larger on the horizon. It's finally time for the LBP2 Beta to let the punters know that its closing time, draw its curtains, wipe down the sideboards, pack its bags, put the rubbish bags out, pull its front door shut, sweep the driveway, close the gate, close the gate again because it didn't shut properly, get in a cab, head to the airport, sleep overnight due to the adverse weather conditions, check in to its flight, remove containers of liquid over 100ml from its hand luggage, head to the departure lounge, move to its flight gate, get on its plane, eat complimentary olives - and go on holiday.
Horrah!
In other words... the Beta will be ending soon!
What about my stuff?!
As we told you right at the very start of the trial, your beta creations will all be lost when the beta trial ends.
We did originally have a teeny glimmer of hope that maybe we could transfer levels - but as you've all seen from the throughout the trial - there have been some pretty epic bugs that came up during the trial. Profile import & DLC sharing issues, THE GOD GLITCH - and many many more. With your help, we've worked really hard to make sure these bugs are fixed. Can you imagine what would happen if any of these made it to the full game?
So the plan still stands - the beta servers will be wiped, lost and gone forever (you might recall, Unicorns may be involved).
It's not all sadness! We're keeping the beta running right through the Christmas period.
We don't have a firm date set yet, but I can tell you that the beta will end some time before the game launches (Jan 18th), and after we all get back to work (Jan 4th). So you've got a good fortnight left in the beta yet.
Of course - once we have the official switch off date - we will let you know on these forums.
A massive thank you!
To each and every one of you! You have all helped us enormously in making LBP2 the game it is.
Your feedback and input has been invaluable - consider yourself awesome.
We truly hope you have enjoyed the beta as much as we have - you've built AMAZING things, things that have had us crying with laughter, smiling with win and some things that've left our jaws dropping to the floor with sheer awesome. We love you all - and we can't wait to see you in the full game when it releases on January 18th.
Enjoy Christmas and have a very happy new year!
From all at Media Molecule!

And finally, those bug blasters...
Everyone involved with the beta has been very busy on finishing the game, lbp.me and of course the beta itself - so understandably, getting out the bug blaster codes to those of you who have so far earnt them has not been a priority.
We're actually out of codes for bug blasters, we'll be getting new ones in the new year and once things have calmed down, we'll be distributing them to the people who have earnt them so far and of course those people we award them to for their hard work in the beta.
In the mean time - please stay calm about them, - they will be sorted all in good time.
