Interesting, so "wha-psshh" with an Australian accent comes out "wha-kahhhh"... Fascination is what I'm experiencing. Although, I guess in Australyish, that would be "Fascina-kaaahh-n". Also, the proper word describing things from Australia - Australyish - would be, in Australyish, pronounced "Australyi-kaahhh".

You've expanded my horizons in new ways. All this time whenever I've heard "let's throw another shrimp on the barby", it was being "Americanned up" for my easier communicative digestion. What's actually said in Australia-town, is "let's throw another kaahh-rimp on the barby".

I still have my mohawk, it's just not up because my hair is grown and it doesn't stay up so I don't bother. I will cut my hair shorter and put the mohawk back up when school starts :)

I've gotten the John Lennon thing many and many a time! It's a great trick to look like Lennon, because there are people out there that love that man so dearly that by mere visual association, I am permanently endeared to them. I've had people nearly tell me they love me just because I look like John Lennon from the bee-attles. It's kind of weird at times, but it's great to exploit for personal gain at the expense of others. I'm John Lennon! Now give me all your money. It's good to know that John Lennon lives on through me, isn't it? I'm still waiting on that money by the way.

As for my dad, he's "with me" in that he's still alive and kicking, but not "with me" in that we are estranged. We're not in contact anymore, though I did send him this photo to his work email. I'm sure it warmed his aortic valve, but the illusion of proximity visible in the photo may be the only contact we're likely to have for some time.

Fun fact about that hippy on the left: Hardcore Republican.

Wow.. that's really sad. It'd be a hard mad indeed that would not be stirred quite deeply by the sight of his own son - the once object of profound affection - looking so like himself. I honestly hope that you can mend that rift some time. :(

Wow...you'll find this strange...I went to school with two guys who both looked like John Lennon and you and your father. I really liked the two of them. Both were very easy going. One of them was really "out there", while the other was really "out there". lol

Oh, I'm sure we'll see each other sometime. You know how these things usually go. Obviously it's very complicated - almost absurdly so in this case - but we're all I think independently aware that there's such thing as "too late" and nobody's getting any younger.

Also, the weird thing is, without my facial hair and without the haircut similarity (which was absolutely bizarre, because my dad never looked like a hippy when I was alive) I look absolutely nothing like him. Most of the similarities under any amount of scrutiny are with my mom. That said, you put on the beard and the long-hair and you're going to look like a lot of people... Lennon and Jesus among them! When I shave I look like Thom Yorke from radiohead. With the beard I'm John Lennon. Do Yorke and Lennon look similar? Indeed no! Beards and mustachios, I say. Beards and mustachios.

Its a good thing you guys will never find out my TRUE look.
