I took philosophy in college! So glad I did, it helps. And yeah, I just had someone call me a 7yr old noob, out of nowhere. Which is funny from someone who can't actually spell a single word correctly. It's clear that spamming people with insults can spread like a tropical flue, maybe critical thinking and rational behavior can also be contagious? I just try to act like reasonable person, and hope it rubs off on others. Then I blow some stuff up to let off steam.
I had a really cool philosophy prof who gave extra credit if he saw you at any of the jazz concerts on campus.

i think ungreth's way is appealing though. the plague of obnoxiousness the anonymity of internet opinion sharing causes, to the point where people are killing themselves over myspace, means that this generation (i'm oldish, sue me) needs to learn that they're talking to real people ASAP... it might seem harsh to hush up a brat online, but imagine that kid's mind never learning any self control and mouthing off to the wrong person in the wrong place someday in the real world. that's a beatin' he could have avoided, even if the brute he provoked was wrong to react. kick the dog is right.
