I know LBP2 only just came out, but I just imagined the other day what a newer update/dlc/lbp3 might look like:
-in popit, if you have a dynamic costume or material, it moves within the popit menu.
-Backgrounds could have ongoing movements; Cars, people e.t.c
-new 3d level option for free roam
- popit text search
- Ice hazard back!!
- more powerups like swords, guns.
these are just some lame ideas, But they could be cool in future DLC or maybe even another sequel. Who knows?
Dont we already have a gun?
We need ice back! It would be great to have a level where sackboy gets frozen and slides down a mountain!
It would be nice if LBP3 introduces 4 or 5 planes of movements, instead of 3. That would go a long way in opening up many more possibilities for level creation.

I would like to see a few more planes added, but I would want this to remain a 2D (2.5D) platformer. If I want to make a 3D free roam game, I'll use an engine specifically made for that genre.
If there's an LBP3, it has to be in Super Mario 64-style 3D.
The ice hazard was removed because if the player landed on a block of it, then mangaed to unfreeze, (s)he would land back on the ice and freeze again, therefore you would never be able to escape the ice. Hence why it was removed. :)
i had a weird dream about lbp1, waaaay before lbp2, and it was more than just layers in create, but also "paths" like if it was some kind of racing tracks, the three layers would at one point (wherever you wanted to) be 6 layers, and if you choose to walk on the 3 layers in the back it was... errr... just a new path, and when you choose the 3 layers at the front you could see the other path, Waaaaaay back there...
it was amazing, the best dream i've ever had about lbp. god, the levels where crazy.
Why worry for LBP3, when we can worry on how LBP2 CAN look like? :D
Remember, the game's fresh and new, LBP1 has changed much since releace date, and LBP2 has a greaterpotential to evolve! ;)
Ice can be faked with holo material and by cutting off the players movement somehow, just saying.

WOW! I definatly would like to see that ice idded in in an expansion, its very cool indeed. I can see the problems with having it added but surely they could just add say a timer or a max number of times you can get "iced" in so that the problems wouldnt be a problem?
Why do you want the ice back when you could easily create that effect in LBP2 using a few emitters and a sackbot? It isn't that hard you know :P

For the ice it could be made so you can tweak it to perhaps after being frozen the block turns back to normal (the danger is removed) or after a certain number of freezes

Swords and Guns will never be implemented as it is 7 game and if you start adding in more Adult Stuff it will gradually go up.
Dynamic Images in the Popit will be a real lag producer.

3D roam i would hate, as i like LBP as it is a 2.5 D Platformer (Well, Was)
Ice could be like plasma, you just freeze and fall apart. No timer whatsoever. Or like fire, 2 hits.
XD this is crazy...all I can say Is I hope its full 3D :p.
Edit* thinking about it more..it would be better if we actually had an option to either make a level full 3D or 2D, that would be pretty awesome.
As awesome as more than three layers sounds, it would probably confusing as hell to navigate through.
Sigh.... LBP2 is just out and you're already thinking about what could be? Sheesh people, get your priorities straight.
Plus the fact that I can almost guarantee that there will not be a LBP3.

This already exists: Notably, Avalonia and The Cosmos. Maybe Victoria's Lab is noticable, too.

Yeah, I suppose it really looked cool, not necessarily the actual frozen sackperson. The SIXAXIS shaking is cool, too.

What in Tartarus would a sword do? A simple sackperson/sackbot killing thing? You can stab it into and pull it out of any "stone" material? Maybe that's how you get it? Maybe it can melee through cardboard, destroying it? Not worth it. If you only want it for the killing, a slightly uglier way of making a sword is using a Creatinator powerup, decorating it well enough, and making it emit short range fire or electricity, maybe along with some blood to cover up the fakeness. If you want a more swordlike effect, make it so the Creatinator emits a small invisible block of something that would squish a sackperson directly below it in a matter of seconds(try high gravity mmm? metal?), and then it would give that killing effect.

A few things for me:
1. Waiting for a true LBP2 move, not the LBP1 included Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves which Sony already gave to me before the game came out for free, Pfft.
2. Another LBP spinoff idea is like a Super Mario Galaxy game. Super Stardust HD-ish, too. I've played SMG1 at my friend's house, but I don't tend to own Nintendo video game products, but a PS3+LBP version would be cool. Considering the 3D earth/moon/infomoon is already down, and the Sackboy On The Run dynamic theme, have your customizable sackboy running in adventures around a 3D world.
WHAT WOULD MAKE IDEA #2 AWESOME:
1. Optional online gameplay(or multiplayer offline at the least)!
2. Level editor/modder!
3. LBP1/2 imports! Because of idea #4, you can perhaps have a few objects!
4. You can still grab(R1) and jump!

Speaking of Alex Evans, there's a pin for high-5in' him IRL. Must have a cold, icy hand.
Couldn't they just add like a timer on the ice so when your on it, it counts down to an (Optional Number) And make you freeze for an (Optional Number). And maybe if it does come back, you could make your own ice shapes instead of just a cube, there could be an edit mode and then a border were you can shape it. (like the Corner Editing Tool)
Its fun to think about, but keep in mind there are updates over the horizon that may change things up quite a bit and rattle some brains even more about the capabilities of LBP2. Remember water? Just that one relatively simplistic addition meant we didn't have to fake water (though some of them did look pretty good like Jump_Button's on the GOTY LBP1) with thin glass and gas. When I saw it I NEEDED it. Now there are levels with the water's mechanics as the center piece of how some levels and their puzzles work. Wasn't there already talk about Mm keeping the background layer and doing what they could about turning it into a tool? They're listening to us. Have faith.

Can't we just use the 3D layers and side-camera glitch to do this? I doubt that Mm will remove it since people have made amazing 3D levels with it. Can't we be a bit more resourceful? :)Quote:

Really the only thing I could think of them doing would be making it full 3D. You'd also be able to widdle away at materials so they'd look like a normal 3D object.
I want atleast 4 planes. 4 players sharing 3 planes can get a tad anticlimactic (for lack of a better term, sadly)

I don't know bout ice, but I be thinking that you die instead of breaking free.

I have some ideas about how the ice hazard could work, if it were ever to be implemented.
1. Replace shaking the controller to break free with mashing a button to break free.
2. Make it so if you stay in the ice too long, you die.
3. After breaking free of ice, you have a few seconds of immunity to ice, so you can escape.
4. If you land in ice three subsequent times after escaping, you will die.
These would probably remove the problems that MM faced when implementing ice in the first place.
