Sackbots + grabbing?

Is there a flexible way to handle grabbing with a sackbot? I want to make a remote-control bot that keeps holding on to what you're grabbing when you eject with R1 held. Is this possible?

I don't know how you have your sackbot set up, but the way I've found that's easiest is to have a DCS that overides him, and then have another DCS that receives from a transmitting DCS that the player sits in. The receiver is directly wired to the overriding DCS. This lets you have custom controls and conditions for things happening, such as what you want.

Hook an OR gate into the R1 button of the DCS that overrides the Sackbot.

one of the inputs of the OR gate should obviously be the R1 output of the receiving DCS. This will make the grab work normally.

the other input should be a counter set to 1. Its input is an AND gate with two inputs: pushing R1 and whatever action causes the player to be kicked out of the DCS. So the counter gets a point whenever you get kicked out while holding down the grab button. Then take whatever action you want to cause him to let go and have that reset the counter.

Thanks! I didn't even know the inputs on receiving controllinators did that. The only misleading part of your solution was the OR gate, which looped the output through and caused R1 to stay on permanently. I got rid of it and linked the counter straight to R1, which works like a charm. The R1 button works even while the counter is off, which leads me to believe that button inputs function like OR gates with the corresponding button.

oh, cool then. Whatever works! The OR gate sounded necessary to me just thinking about it but evidently not.
