i realy want those desktop ponys

is there any way to get them on a mac

inb4 darwine i already tried

I have no idea how Mac programming works (not a mac user), but I wouldn't be surprised if some enterprising brony adapts the source code to work for Mac soon. The app is pretty much fresh from the oven from what I can tell.

I would do it, but I've no idea where to even begin coding for Mac. :(

Sadly, Mac's are difficult to figure out. They're like the PS3s of the computer world. :/

While I'm at it, let me just say that your pony's awesome! :D But to be honest, it looks a lot like a pony (female) than a filly (male). :p

You mean a colt not a filly.

Lol, I've no idea what the difference is between a male and female pony (other than the eyes and mane). I just based it on Derpy's sprite and modified it to have the proper colors and helmet + armor.

I suppose I could have used Dr. Whoof as a base instead, but I preferred the bouncy walk animation on Derpy (and the tail was easier to recolor than on the other ponies).

It doesn't matter much IMO, it's just a pony. :p

I'll see if I can learn anything about Mac coding in the meantime... no promises though.

note how the jawline of male ponies such as Mr Cake or of Big Macintosh are very defined.
Female ponies have near spherical faces.

I meant the face. The eyes made her (him?) look like a girl. Besides, some male ponies don't have the same face Macintosh does.

So any news on making Desktop Ponies work on non-windows systems? The "original thread" didn't have much info about it (although it had a lot of people talking about Big Mac, which is not the same thing). :p

I've taken up the challenge last night and managed to get most of the code translated over to Java (just the main features)... can anyone with a Mac confirm if this works or not?

(I've included Gilgapony and Derpy, but it should work with the other ponies... except that some of them have weird gif animation settings that need to be fixed, leading to artifacts).

Edit: (Seems I can't include Gilgapony and Derpy since that makes the file too big for attachments, so only Derpy is included).

Lol, you can use the ponies from the Desktop Ponies with the Java one I made, they work the same (or just copy the .jar into Desktop Ponies' folder). The options button doesn't work because I haven't made it. :p

Anyway, since it seems to work I guess I'll keep working on it a bit. Hopefully adding a forced redraw when changing pictures gets rid of that weird two-pony bug.

also add an option to clear all ponies
