The unwritten rules of lbp society (Moon etiquette)

First of all before requesting to join your friend, use your PS button to check your friends status . If it says unavailable then leave them be. If available then send a message to see if it's cool to join.*

Here's a*"don't do without asking" list when you join someone on there moon -*
don't ask a lot of questions when the creator is off the mic,(takes time to reply)
*don't jump into every controlinater you see and hit un-pause over and over,*
don't run around while your friend is play testing something in play mode (followers),
*don't open circuit-boards (creator paranoia),*
don't copy anything (deal breaker for me)*
don't bring sketchy people with you.
don't start creating something on the side.(extra rewinding)
And If the creator hits rewind, don't make your last move again and again after every rewind.

Basically just stay out of your pulpit and in the air so I don't have to worry about you.
I have a few buds that I don't feel I have to watch and they are also always welcome to join me anytime because of that."


Feel free to add to this list or start a new one about another area of the game.

Basically: Don't break my level :) Haha. Sounds like you're letting monkeys into your workshop.

Tbh, that sounds dead boring to me.

I agree with most of the other things though.

Ahhaahaha! any of that is only true if the friend is a creator,
i have a good handful of friends who when you join their moon
they are just playing and goofing around, and you can go as far as start nuking
everything then they LOL and start doing it with you. but yeah, it pays to know
the differences of your friends, when they are a creator just float around and chat with them
when they are not busy, if they are busy just leave, waste of time being there if you are not helping
them and they are also to busy to hang out that min, tho i never had that problem with my creator friends,
if they let me join they are fine with chatting because if they were not,
they would not have let me join to start with, *mew

Basically I find hard to focus when I create even if I'm alone, and if I get focused I disconnect from reality, so I may not even notice what you say, do or whatever else.
So I wouldn't have problems in having people around, because they don't give me more problems than I already have...though I get embarassed by the fact that I can stay 2 hours straight looking at a blank level without doing anything...

I hear you there.

I never let anyone join me in one of my levels unless I've known them for a while or just get that "nice person" vibe from them.

My important levels, I always have a copy. That's the one I take people into. If it's one I don't care about, it's all good. Generally though, I think when visiting other people, you should act mature. Like a guest, because that's what you are. Just because it's a game doesn't mean you don't have to use good manners. If you want to check something out, ask first. Always respect your hosts wishes. If a person's in create with me, and I don't like the way they're acting. It'll earn them a one way ticket off my friends list. Luckily I've never had any problems yet. All of the people I've met are pretty cool.:)

Or, just create offline...

I have buds that can join me anytime and do what they want because I fully trust them. But I have made some new buds that are killing me. They want to play play play. There 14-17 and they haven't learned how to just hand out with me without a frequent breaking noise followed by a "please rewind" message. I like the kids, they make me lol. I guess part of the problem is I'm just not used to play play play. I always feel like I'm more of a work work work hard work fun work boring work work work bug my friends to playtest work publish play type of guy.

But it surprises me that I have like 335-340 hearted levels in my hearted page :p

Wow cubby I didn't know you were 14-17yrs of age :) but you are a fairly new bud that is very respectful of a build. I just compared your visit with the others and It left me thinking all visits should be like that so I made this post.

And I respect other when they creating and I use to help my friends more than I create on my own.

You can't really call those the "unwritten rules" any more now can you? Also, while there is some truth to your post, I disagree with the general theme. You're forgetting that this is a game and games are for having fun. You're basically asking your friends to sit there and do nothing while you have all the fun--you won't even let them ask what you're doing. What's the point of online create if that's how you're going to handle it?

So yeah, I agree that you shouldn't capture stuff without permission, and you should probably ask if you can try out the controllinators instead of just hopping in (though there's that whole typing with a controller thing that makes excessive conversation cumbersome), and you should wait until the level owner is done rewinding before you try to do anything, but I'm all for asking questions, building something on the side, and trying out controllinators/vehicles. If you don't want them doing any of those things, why are you even inviting/accepting them into your level?

As a side note, I pretty much accept the fact that once somebody joins me, I'm pretty much done with serious creation until they leave. I'll show them what I've been up to, get feedback or answer questions, and then they'll show what they've been up to and then we usually just end up messing around, tossing around ideas, or making new costumes or something. For that reason, if I really want to be in serious creator mode for a while, I just play offline.

I always allow for my friends to put their own input and ideas in to my own levels and objects :) Mostly because I have very creative friends who only want my levels to be as good as they can be. I find that allowing an outside source put a little of their own mind in to your creations, it almost always is for the better. This may just be because I only allow trust worthy people in. If I feel like my level is not a good environment for my guests then I simply leave it and find a more suitable place to enjoy their company. I bend the rules depending on the person.

Imo there no point of forceing some etiquette on community, everyone have there own, one restrictive one less.If you don't want to be annoyed by everything simply put auto-reject you way to go.

you're right. I posted this thread frustrated, half asleep and in bed late last night on my iPhone. I should of just labeled it something else like "friends that bug the hell out of you when your trying to create". If I go to your moon I would follow those rules and I guess i maybe asking to much. Im just spoiled by the level of perfesionalism people like ninjamcwz, Jaeyden, lightmare, cubby and RyanardoDavinci show me when they join.

Surely this thread is contradicting?
