I'm working on my Applecarver Island storyline, and I'm working on the second level in the series. I'm running a bit low on in inspiration. If you all don't mind, I thought I'd pick your minds for some ideas.
The second level is going to be a Jungle themed level, and I want to make it have more to do in it than just swinging.
Any ideas that you could throw at me would be appreciated.
You could run into a little group of dangerous Gorillas and have to climb the tress and do a little bit of swinging then end up sliding down a rocky cliff down into more dense jungle. Myabe you could put in a rapids section, you could enter an Anacondas area and fill it with skeletons and make it a mini boss or something, thats all i can think of right now lol
Sounds like a cool idea to me.
You could maybe have a large bit of sponge (disguised in leaves) blocking the entrance to a secret area full of goodies. When reaching the end, players would know that they've missed something and would replay your level :)
I have many ideas regarding "Jungle" encounters and will list a few choice ones here. . ..
you could have things like native attacks, hippos (very dangerous), boat rides through piranha infested waters, playful (and annoying) monkeys, inept guides/explorers, a harrowing encounter with a giant spider, bathing elephants, giant anacondas (could swallow sackboy)
I'm sure you get the idea.
How about some quick sand? have a pit full of small pieces of sponge or something. When sack boy falls in you could have the floor of the pit slowly lower, while emitters create more little balls of sponge to fill the top. This should give the effect of sackboy sinking. but you would have to hide where the emitted sponge appears from behind a thin layer of scenery or something.
